Here's a pro-tip especially for you:

Just because a character is completely off-the-wall, random, has a lack of popularity, and/or holds your interest doesn't mean it's a likely choice to happen.
How many of the token Flavors of the Month of yours ended up not being in the game now?

There should be a hybrid word for "hi" and "bye" that you can just use for both. I mean, sometimes you want to acknowledge someone's existence, but you have to go.

There's a few choices I have supported that were very unlikely. (Nester, Harry, AR Man, Anna notably) I'll admit I have shouldn't really betted on highly. Eventually I realized some of their very obvious things against their inclusion. :p
I'm trying to be very unbiased this time with DLC speculation.

There wasn't any surprise WFT reveal at E3 2014, that's when I eventually gave up on Dr. Kawashima.

Just like Geno, Shrek, Simon Belmont, Shadow, and all those other character propagandas that don't make no sense.

They come right the **** out of nowhere
Have little or no bearing whatsoever on the plot
Are way over the top in terms of ridiculousness
And afterwards, no one ever speaks of them again.

But it also can be destructive. I've seen enough discussions both here and in the character threads to know just how much people get invested into how one character gets into Smash.
Sure, don't get me wrong. Seeing your favorite character get in is nice, I get that. But then you get into fandom wars and how my character will get in over yours due to popularity/relevancy/uniqueness/something I pulled out of my posterior. And in end it really doesn't matter. A character either gets in or does not, but we get to the point where if one character in a large roster isn't in, we flip tables. Really, if it gets to the point to where a game which objectively is great is useless in one's eyes because of the lack of one character, that's not healthy.

It is also about fun. I mean, we look back on speculation after dealing with it for more than a year, we look back on it after we have already been playing the game for months, we look back on it and discern what we got wrong. But prior to launch? It was always about the fun, supporting the characters that you loved, and discussing the potential for one of your favorites to make it into one of your favorite games with like-minded individuals. I doubt I will go into Smash 5 with an entirely objective mind-set just so that I can relive the experience. At least in the beginning.

I never really was into comments like "he's just thinks Ridley won't be in Smash now just because Sable Prince is deconfirmed" or those short joke pun comments like "Dark Pit getting in over King K. Rool and Ridley? *insert animated gif. here*" they are just flat-out mean and only encouraged more of it from others, most members I knew here did it too and it kinda upsetted me.

Totally agree with making the habit of getting over the fact that one character didn't get in, it is just a ficitional character after all. Instead just say, "It would've been a nice opportunity, but maybe next time."
