Argh!!! I want to stab someone! Damn For Glory!!! All I want is just to have fun. Nope! Freaking nope!

Optional: For Glory rant.
I just fought a dude who did nothing, but baited out the dirtiest **** ever. Mr. Game & Watch? Only grabbed and used Judge. Of freaking course it works. Of damned course it works!!! I had a match where he got 3-4 9 Judges! What kind of BS luck is that? He switches to Samus and does nothing, but Charge Shots from a side and if I got close, the usual Samus combo of D-throw to Fair or Uair. Later, he uses Jigglypuff only to bait Rests and apparently, Greninja using U-throw to Uair does jack **** since Rest overrides everything. His Luigi used the same damned combos everyone knows along with Fireball camping and guess what? Super Jump Punch wait and baits and of goddamned course he gets two misfires in one match! His Zelda just baited Farore's Wind and Smashes. All I wanted to do was mess around as Meta Knight and Greninja. Nope, had to pull out Ganondorf and Ike to do anything because I don't know the other too well enough. Oh, and he had a Captain Falcon who baited Falcon Punches and Knees.

My wife and I are staying at the traditional Japanese straw thatched house for our one year anniversary. Prepare for some pics of it!

Lakefront view

Bathtub at the house

The view of the roof from inside

View of roof from outside

Part of our dinner

My drink of choice tonight

That's very impressive! You two will definitely have a nice time there to celebrate.

Hopefully one day I can go to Japan, it seems like such an interesting place.

Jim beam is cheap. I usually drink Wild Turkey, Teachers, or Jameson. But those are upwards $30-50. Jim Beam is like 9 bucks but I like the taste for the cost.

Here was a very narrow tunnel.

I enjoy seeing the pictures you take from Japan. It makes me wish I could go back and visit...

Ah, Japan. That place is like its own little world.

One of many places I'd like to visit sometime in my life, as a matter of fact.

I'm thinking on taking a Japanese language course next year.

How you know you're an American gaming nerd:
You want to live in Japan.
And half of those who do come to Japan find out its not what they watched in anime/reading manga and come to resent it. Quite sad, really. It's important to come to Japan without any expectations.

Lol back of a set of cards we ought at a dollar store

Hm? I've never watched anime so my only experience of Japan is what everyone says about it.
I'd still love to at least visit anyway because it seems like a cybermetropolis compared to where I live.

I got a Valentine's card with a hand-drawn Nightwing on it, and the content of the card was:

"Want some ****?"

Women sure are hilarious, aren't they.

That's beautiful.
Although it would have funnier if on the front it said "Want to see my ****?"
And on the inside it just showed a picture of Robin holding a valentine.

It's hard for me not to have expectations because I've already lived there when I was younger...back when I didn't really care about living in a different culture or getting new experiences...Now I actually want to experience different cultures for myself. I think I started watching anime because I miss Japan. And yes, I know anime/manga doesn't really properly portray Japan. I guess it's the little things like seeing Japanese convenience stores or the sound of the cicadas over summer or the food in general. Also, I'd probably be more down with sleeping on tatami now.

Thats only the big cities like Osaka or Tokyo. My "city" are mostly farmers, workers, factories, rice fields, old people, and whee people constantly stare at your foreignness.

I'm more so talking about those fresh of the boat with self-perceived notions of what Japan should be for them. Case in point, my friend moved here in 2009 without any prior knowledge or experience with Japanese culture and only intended to stay one year but stayed to 5 years and got married with a Japanese girl.

Yet another friend came after studying the culture, language, and being heavily invested in the anim/gaming scene. He was saying he will stay in Japan his entire life. He left after a year which he spent ranting how horrible Japan is.

So where you like is it...quiet?
It can be quiet. I live in the city center but it's pretty countryside. About 110,000 people. I teach at a school that has 4-8 students per grade waaaay out in the mountains. Like an hour and half drive through mountains.

This is a view of my city from the mountains. Fun fact, my wife teaches English at the factory you see to the left. And there's a park near the middle, below the factory. That's where they do one of the largest firework festivals in Japan. Also, there is an international festival where foreigners come to walk around our city in May. Mostly Europeans. I have to help them and do translation in that area too. My apartment is all the way to the left somewhere but straight from the factory.

I like where I live. It's quiet, it's the country side and the places I need to get to are fifteen minutes away. I get sick around giant groups of people, which is also part of it.

Ironically, the city I'm currently living in has around 100 thousand people and it's one of the biggest cities of Portugal. My hometown has just around 50000 people.

Then again, the biggest city in Portugal (the capital, Lisbon) has about 500 thousand people. (Though the entire metropolitan area has about a million people.)

This is one small country. I already think Lisbon is big, so bigger cities kind of intimidate me. I'm like: "I would never want to live in such places unless it was really necessary".

I have visited bigger cities like Paris or London before, but yeah, I'm used to smaller and more modest places.

I don't like going to Tokyo. I've been there a lot but it's too big, crowded, expensive, and anything else. I feel like I'm suffocating. I love the Japanese countryside.
