All I remember about him is people getting angry at him thinking Ridley was too big and wanted Ridley confirmed as a playable character to rub it in his face.

Funny how that turned out.

Dat Sakurai though, he added more insult to the injury with his interview about Ridley feeling more like a boss due to his strange proportions. Shokio himself was pretty right about him being deconfirmed after the Smash Direct and the comments were quite the entertainment after the game's release.

With Barney's flying partner out of the picture, I'll jump on the Anthony Higgs bandwagon since he's a notable GFS member. Anyone could remember him because he was the best thing about Other M.

Step 1: Make a Custom Slot
Step 2 (And Most Important step): ADD NOTHING IN THE EQUIPMENT SECTION.
Step 3: Change customs if you like.
Extra Tip: Mii fighter Size has both positives and negatives depending on size.

I also got **** on for that. I notice THE BLATANTLY ****ING OBVIOUS FORESHADOWING THAT RIDLEY WAS GOING TO BE A BOSS ON PYROSPHERE to people, and people ignored it clinging onto really lousy strawman arguments. For what though, having their hopes and dreams crushed? That's stupid, and the worst part is that it's something that could of easily been avoided altogether.

There are hundreds of unpredictable variables with a single character when we customize it, imagine that with 48 characters.

Miis are completely based around that.

Pretty sure Ice Climbers and Mr. Game & Watch got plenty of hate way back when. They've just been around for so long that the hate kind of died down. I imagine something similar will happen with R.O.B. for future installments. I actually laughed off any roster that didn't have R.O.B. in it.

That's not a Super Smash Bros. exclusive issue, any crossover will have that. Hell anything that has a roster of characters period will get that reaction. Generally speaking it's either because it's a fanservice pack and people feel cheated when said fanservice has holes in it, or simply a character they've used in past games is gone and uses another one as a scapegoat. The random obscure ones are often the most controversial because no one or very few asked for the character in question, and it gives the impression that the developers don't care about their fanbase. The hole can be dug deeper if said character also under preforms and there for fails to win people over.
