SF is lame and has lame characters? Are you kidding me? It hardly ever missed with a release. The characters are always good.

SFI - lame
SFII - amazing
SFA - amazing
SFA2 - cool
SFA3 - awesome
SFIII - spectacular
MVC - OMG shweet
MVC2 - even better
CVS - kewl
CVS2 - kewler
fighting Jam - ghey....

So out of all those (I think I got them all, cept of course the remakes) only two failed. SF is a brilliant series. I cant wait for the main titles to continue. SF3 was amazing to me and if SFIV is anything like SF3 than I cant wait.

Smash players usually do not play other fighters for one reason or another. I would think because of the technical skill involved and no items and ffas for casuals.

Anyways, I loved Street Fighter 2 on the SNES so that is cool and I love GGXX but both of these games have one thing in common. . . . they have nothing to do with Smash. So this doesn't belong here.

Yea I try to have a hand in all fighting games. I've gone the farthest in Smash and Soul Calibur. I just found the ignorant remarks about Street Fighter pretty ridiculous. And yes this topic definitely doesn't belong here. Where the mods at?

Welcome to the Smash community, who hates traditional fighters and their communityand the other fighters hate smashers. Smashers as a whole are pretty ignorant of other fighting games since this is the only game they have played really (due to ninty fanfare, ffas, items, the game physics, more mainstream and talked about in general). They also use bad rethoric for their arguements like "standard combos" and say other things like "smash is the bestest game so all other fighting games suck." Another common thing they do is imply smash is somehow special for dumb reasons like "mindgames."

So yeah, good to see other people with an open mind to other fighting games. I need to try out more to see what else I can like. I like GGXX the most besides Smash.

The only other fighter I play is Soul Calibur 2 and 3. I don't play games that punish you for successfully blocking 20 hits in a row.

You have 5% health left. Your opponent starts his 20 hit combo. You block all of it (low low low high high low low high high high low low) but you die because blocking takes away your health too. When you're at low health percentage, you're as good as dead. I hate that. There was nothing else you could have done.

Lol guess my eyes are now open.

I really love playing Smash and I think its unique for several reasons but I don't shun every other fighter. I know what makes Smash unique and its not the mindgames since they can be present anywhere and called other things. 2D fighters own imo. But I like the sense of freedom in Smash.
