So, what happened with the Death Grab thing?

It's been a while since I've logged on here. Is there a way to escape it? Is it taboo now to use the death grab intentionally? And etc?

Its not really good anymore thank god. Only Marth can do it, and the rest can be escaped by DI and a well timed spot dodge. Also, characters have been found to have such slow pummel animations that a jump break is possible.

It's still a lot worse than many Lucas players seem willing to accept.

Snake can still hit us with an Ftilt every time he grabs. And we're helpless against Marth.

But at least it's not as bad as Ness, who suffers a lot more.

I thought it was banned. At least at the East Coast. I mean M2K said it should be banned.

If we're going to ban the deathgrabs, we might as well ban DDD's infinites along with them. The deathgrabs only work on 2 characters. DDD infinites FIVE characters, but he's allowed to do them?

What about the IC's chaingrabs? Should those be banned too since they 0-death every character? What about the laserlock? Dtilt locks on walls? Shiek's Ftilt on the spacies? Jab locks? Ice Block lock?

lol DDD infinites five characters on the stage but EVEN MORE if he chain grabs on the edge where they keep tumbling off. DDD can infinite another DDD actually. Funny huh? But anyway, I find it odd M2K would say to ban the Death Grab but he's not above pulling DDD CGs and Infinites himself from what I've seen. Perhaps that was just a rumor? Anyway Iceclimbers would have their entire metagame destroyed if someone banned infinite grabs now.

I think NESSBOUNDER is still overrating the deathgrab. First of all, the timing to get a perfect deathgrab isnt something every Snake would practice. Besides, if he's willing to deathgrab an ftilt, he can just ftilt on its own. Sure you get the dash grab bonus, but its still not much better than doing a basic throw combo. A lot of throw combos do about 21% anyways.

I stand corrected. DDD has a standing infinite on 4 characters (Mario, Luigi, DK, Samus). DDD has to creep a little bit to keep regrabbing Bowser, but it will easily take him to triple digits to the end of the stage.

And yes you're correct InfernoRage, DDD infinites another DDD and also Wolf when they go tumbing off the stage.

Earthbound360: A character doing their grab attack constantly benefits them greatly because each grab attack refreshes stale moves. So Snake could do a bunch of neck snaps, Ness breaks free, and Snake nails you with a fresh Ftilt.

I disagree Earthbound360. Snake players are some of the most hardworking and intelligent brawlers. If they can find anything to give them an edge they will practice it to death.

Snakes normal Ftilt can be blocked. A grab > ftilt cannot.

And you also have things like Wario grab releasing you right to the edge of the stage then using Fsmash.
