So lets say the next Smash for Wii U is good

Would you be willing to part ways with the Gamecube controller after 11+ years if the game is good?

As long as the stick is good, it's just a matter of getting used too.

I don't expect any smash to be better than melee though. It would be nice if they released some virtual console port though.

Melee online will be horrible people, lag of course, all that high speed actions will be decreased.

of course some will stay(see Super Turbo for example) but if the game is good,I would not be surprised if people move on, since you know a better game is what people wanted and all.

EDIT: I just noticed- the button layout is just like the SNES. I'm gonna love playing this....since I can finally play other fighters as well(the weakness with the GC contoller....except with Soul calibur 2)

At the very least, this should be good enough to play smash on. Probably all of us would prefer if the buttons and right stick swapped, but this is just fine most likely. The fact that it can be wired means that competitive smash will be viable on Wii U, and that there could possibly be mods/converters. All that matters at this point is the game itself.

a lot of folks have negative reception for the new Smash,but I'm going to take the positive route, as Nintendo has shown at least 2 improvements in the form of this Controller and because the Multiplayer in KI:U was actually good. plus to be fair, 2008 sucked for everyone, and later years have improved from that bomb of a year.

I hate that controller, it's still basically the same as the old classic controller but because it was JUST announced it supposedly is so much better. Also, their might be a way to plug a gamecube controller into normal classic controllers.

That's why Massive and I are taking the matter into our own hands. We prefer things without the Touch of Sakurai™.

The controller looks pretty great and would definitely work quite well for a Smash game. Smash 4, on the other hand, shouldn't even be a topic for debate. Smash is becoming Mario Party.

dunno IE,if anything, this Nintendo direct shows that Wii-u online is gonna pretty much S*** over Wii's Online connection.so it might not be bad at all.

I'm not expecting much because I don't want to have hype only for it only to be worse than Brawl. If it is good than I will proable play it. I doubt it will be as good as Melee though.
