i think you could edge-hog more. I've only seen you're vs falco videos so i dunno how often you edgehog against other characters. it's pretty easy to edgehog with peach just face the opposite end of the stage, instant float backwards and let go of float to catch the edge. This mnight be better than throwing turnips because it's not accurate and he may get back on stage and noone wants that D:

also to avoid the lasers maybe you should get used to being in the air more, floating at awkward heights and being used to moving back and forth to avoid attacks. Float cancelling is good too, it'll help you're speed and mobility.

I'm not sure about this but apparently peach's jab (the slap) if timed right can actually deplete lasers, but I'm not sure, i might be thinking of something else, I should check it out LOL

I'm no expert so if you think I've said something wrong just tell me :D we're all learnhing here!

This is not from watching the matches but playing you in person.

You need to stop doing the same thing over and over again. Especially if it doesn't work the first time. This might be one of the reasons why you gravitated towards using Zelda. She is basically just 4 or 5 moves.

Work on your mindgames (related to above)

Try to surprise people.

Think quicker.

Try looking of matches of you being *****/losing and see what you did wrong. That helped me improve a lot.

Look at this match: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARBzUUeLtRE

And compare that to how I did vs. Korn last sunday (though he is a bit rusty now from brawl).

Turnips: instant mindgame, they won't know when you'll throw it, or how and in what direction. the best part is you can attack and keep holding on to the turnip without throwing it. Like i said before get used to floating, and spend as much time as you can in the air. if going against characters like Falco don't float too high, because if he hits you with the laser, you'll fall and that'll set up and attck nicely for him. against characters like samus or link or young link who have several really good projectiles float heaps and far away, float-camp LOL. if their projectiles keep missing they'll lose confidence in them and give up on them, or get impatient and try to go in for the kill, which suits peach and zelda better, because they can counter the agressive types. just be patient!!!!

turnip set ups are pretty easy to do:
1. throw turnip
if they catch it, dash attack
if they dodge, dash attack
if they shield, dash attack, and possibly downsmash if tthey're in range, otherwise roll or wavedash away
if they light shield, it might be better to throw another turnip since they will suffer more hitstun, I wouldn't reccomend dash attacking here LOL
if they catch the turnip, then you have lots of options, because unlike peach, holding an item limits their attacks because all they can do is throw the item. keep the pressure on. as long as they are holding the turnip, you have got to smash them, no pun intended (okay it was intentional)
2. after dash attacking, go into your aerials in each case.

hope i was helpful! :D

I think the real reason why I converted to Zelda is because I tend to throw out kill moves often. And everyone hates Peach's downsmash. Zelda is also less technical.

cping you to Mute at a MDZ tourney
haven't watched the vids yet but in response to carpet getting on the ledge with peach can be scary. I prefer to be facing the ledge when I ledgeguard and turning around, floating, and dropping to the ledge makes you pretty vulnrable to your opponent doing a dj aerial or up b. just food for thought. I'll watch it soon

I know how you feel, I play both zelda and peach :D
Zelda has a greater ability to kill than peach does, but on the down side it can be very difficult to approach with Zelda, given all her flaws. Zelda has a very good counter-defensive game, but i don't think she does well being simply defenisve because she can't camp and she can't really approach or combo very well.
Peach on the other hand, has heaps of priority, can combo and juggle much better than Zelda can, but she can't kill as fast. and I personally love down smash BECAUSE everyone hates it LOL. Peach can approach, and she has a very versatile projectile.

i find that to play each character well (which i don't) you need to be patient, you shouldn't be randomly throwing out kill moves because you'll be easily punished. I think in your case setting up for the kill move is what you have to work on! you are a very good smasher! I love the little gif in your sig LOL proves you've got talent.

also, yeah edge-hogging can be quite scary with peach, especially if you use your float to edge-hog. you can wavedash backwards to save your float. but be especially aware of edge-hogging on battlefield, that stage has some weird edges D:

I only watched vs falco but there are a couple of things you can do. First, stop trying to catch lasers with your mouth. Doesn't work. You can full hop float approach falco to shut down the short hop laser. Second, don't be afraid to go out over the ledge after him (of course be careful of is toward b). And another good tip is to stop holding turnips after you get a kill. I know Armada makes it look good, but in general this is the worst time to be holding a turnip. Invulnerable enemies tend to try and close distance, making the turnip less effective and limiting your options. On a related note, when you come back from being ko'd don't waste invulnurabliity grabbing a turnip. Especially against spacies. Use the chance to get in their face, shield pressure, and start combos. Just my two cents, might not suit your style if you try it out.
