So I can't go back to vBrawl...

Seriously, I just tried playing vBrawl for the first time in a couple of months, and I achieved astounding levels of suckage. It just seems so sloooooooowwwwww now, and I had no clue how to even approach. The worst was with Marth and Kirby. No auto L-cancel, no shield stun, so so much lag I'm not used to.
I'm thinking this is gonna be REAL problematic after some time...

Solution: Don't play vBarwl. Similar problems occur when attempting to switch between Melee and Brawl and back again.

The solution is don't play the same char in both games. Lucky for me peach is practically the same in both games so i can go back and forth but after playing ivy zard and zss in brawl+ i can no longer use them in vbrawl. And im not touching diddy in b+ cause i don't want to mess up my diddy in vbrawl.

Every char in brawl+ is fun so it shouldn't be a problem to pick up a char u don't play with in vbrawl.

Snake is the only character I can go back and play decently well in vBrawl because the only major enough change to Snake is his lower aerial lag. He's a grounded character so I can do decently well with Snake is vBrawl still.

I never have this problem with + and Brawl. I do with Melee and Brawl, but, not + and Brawl. Hell, at a tourney I went to I played + hours before the Singles event and still took like 13th! AND I used my main that I use in both games.

Eat that. :@

I cant play VBrawl as well as I used to either. I'm too used to the increased game speed and jump height/gravity changes and buffer, and with characters like Falco or Bowser who got a special change to their moves, I tend to forget that they're not as useful in VBrawl and still commit to them...sorta. ^^;

At least Pit didnt change much. =3

DK, it only shows it in the bottom left and I thought my avatar gave it away too. :p

I can't stand to use Falco in Brawl. I hate how he plays, I play him in Melee but in Brawl? Ick, no thanks.

I use Lucas in vBrawl, and he controls very differently to me in Brawl+ (I prefer him being floaty), so its not too hard for me to go back to it.
I still like vBrawl, the slower nature of the game makes it pretty relaxing.

I normally don't play vBrawl for fun, but when I have to, like when I'm at someone else's house, I just see it as a slower Brawl+. I main Pit so he didn't change too much. But, when I try to use my other two mains in Brawl+/Melee (Falco/Marth), GOD I suck. I don't see how anyone can use Marth for fun, it's just a campfest, and Falco seems too cheap because of the chaingrabs.

Why was the world cursed with vBrawl? :p

Because Sakurai hates cookies, puppies, and Melee.

I've actually not tried to go back to vBrawl since I started Brawl+ (which is only a few days ago), but I can't imagine I would ever want to, whether or not I can do it flawlessly (then again, I suck at vBrawl in the first place so it'd be hard to tell the difference). Melee will always be my favorite, but when I want to play a game with more expansive stages, characters, etc., I'm going to play Brawl+, not vBrawl.

Plus, there's the added bonus that Brawl+ can come with a side of texture and music hacks. =3

Oh yeah, Falco was really problematic too.
His fair was a complete no-no, dair wasn't nearly as effective as an approach.
Pretty much the only thing I could pull off was chaingrabbing.
Well, the only reason I played it was a couple friends of mine were competing in a major tournament today, and wanted to practice. SOBs weren't offering Brawl +, just vBrawl and Melee.
Why can't the world just realize how lame vBrawl is competitively and scrap it?
Oh yeah, we did some Melee too, that was a laughing stock. My wavedashing was solid, but I haven't SHFFL'D in such a long time...

You can get used to it. It's not impossible.
What if I don't WANNA get used to it?? WHY couldn't have Sakurai just have released the game the way it is in Brawl +??? Life would be so much simpler... >_>
And it doesn't help there's Barwlers who don't like Brawl + and refuse to play it... they'll be like "ooohhh, too much stun, I can't get out!!!"

I played Brawl a few days ago against mikeHAZE. It was so weird. I tried to dash dance and just did a turn around and got punished. And I tried abusing lagless edges and nothing happened.

What made it felt extra weird was that I was using MK so I got away with alot more than I wouldnt of in Brawl+.

lmao. In the end, I just walked back and forth and ftilted to infinity. Took mikeHaze to last stock before losing to his Marth. It was weird as ****. :V

yup, no dash dancing, and another difficult adjustment was no edgeguarding, cept off the stage, cuz of the auto ledge grab. Like, I'd be ready with Marth at the edge with a dtilt, and hit nothing but air and promptly get punished. Well in general just not being able to combo effectively was so hard.
I'm just praying to God that when the college semester starts, my Smash Club offers Brawl +. I don't wanna go back to Barwl, and I can't compete with the Melee players.

lol same here, decided to give brawl a try as I missed some aspects of it, then quit as that **** was unplayable.

It needs more wifi players though, all my friends suck monkey balls. =/

they'll be like "ooohhh, too much stun, I can't get out!!!"

also

Lol ****ty SSBB textures.

What would make that even worse would be if it was Super Smash Bros Brawl: The Tourney*** Edition.
You mean Brawl+?

I'm running Balanced Brawl, which I'm actually impressed with. Just makes some agreeable changes to characters, hardly even notice but makes some unplayable characters much more fun. None of that ghey tourney*** **** in Brawl+, like OMG NOEZ WE MUST HAZ WAVEDASHING and crap...

um wavedashing isn't in brawl+, unless you add it yourself. learn your facts. and brawl+ isn't tourney ****. It's trying to make everyone balanced.

oh and I almost forgot my sign:

Um I hope those weren't directed at me personally as I already know all that, plus I responded to those posts calling one of them an idiot.

indeed, not a troll.jpg situation symph.

kinda wish those posts had working links though. i'd have liked reading what led up to that.

as for transitions back and forth, i don't generally play brawl at all anymore. when i do, it's usually vs. pretty bad players (using/spamming upB offensively as fox type players) to appease em. don't play melee, really, though i did buy the game (got hyped). i misplaced my GC mem card, you see...

the biggest trouble i had was transitioning back and forth as kirby, since i used him aerially more than anything. the gravity changes feel a bit off to me, i guess, and i enjoyed all the ways i could pseudo-combo as him by prematurely canceling many of his aerials onto a grounded opponent (ff a fair, usually follow with a ftilt or fsmash, possibly grab, or use dair, definite ftilt or possibly fsmash, wish these tactics had a bigger part in his b+ game since he's so **** simple).

other than that, i didn't have to deal with being the super underdog anymore with ganon, though he still kinda blows in FFAs, hah.

Indeed. I **** with Kirby's bair in Brawl +, it didn't seem to be nearly as effective in vBrawl. And the gravity felt so foreign, I really didn't know how to approach except with bair.

I just enjoy playing brawl+ inbetween vBrawl tournament matches so much.
I have no issue transitioning.

I guess it's how my mind works, but when I play brawl+ it's just like a logic switch for me to start dash dancing, taking advantage of ledges, etc etc. I put attention into using what's available to me in vBrawl to get the reactions that I want, brawl+'s changes don't really add [new] ways to get [new] reactions, just makes them more flashy, I guess.

I haven't touched vBrawl since I was converted. I'm afraid of playing as Link.
lulz true, Link is so much better in Brawl +. His spike actually spikes, and dair is more reliable.
but he did lose a trick or two going from vBrawl to Brawl +.

The biggest issue is the overall speed and the gravity, other things are more side issues that are easier to overcome. Like after playing a lot of plus, you get used to the removal of hit-lag and such.

People who dont like Brawl+ either havent played it or played Brawl+ like vBrawl. :p
Actually, there was this guy who I encountered on youtube who insinuated that Brawl + takes less skill, and vBrawl takes more skill cuz its harder to combo. I called BS.

Yeah I got better with peach too...the only thing I had to get used to was the slower run speed, and that's about it. Peach can still combo in vBrawl :chuckle:
