Lol, I meant what to switch in on a Salamence, not if salamence switches out , I would probably have switched out even if I had a specsmence aganst skarm, to make the opponent stay with skarm next time, for some "mindgames with assurance (read hard hitting FB/FT)", but that´s not the point, keeping it hard to get predicted is the key to use it,

But to some point I agree, alot of people uses them, but do you really want to switch in a blissey against a DC, maybe with CB?
And creating your own movesets will make our team stronger atleast that is what I think, it´s great to see what the opponent might use for moveset on smogon, but blindly rely on that might cause a loss or two..

the point of specsmence was to surprise your opponent, which is contradictory to making it the standard set last I checked. Thus, it should be like the other notable yet still novelty sets like special tyranitar/metagross.

Specsmence isn't bad, it's just not as good as any other notable variant.

Absolutely. Physical Mence was pretty much the only used Mence in ADV. Since DP brought physical Dragon Claw and a physical Fire Attack (Fire Fang, and Dragon and Fire is resisted by one), Physical Mence seemd to be boosted quite a bit. However, with the addition of Choice Specs and STAB Draco Meteor, SpecsMence would be a big suprise for physical walls.

Now, SpecsMence is pretty much the only Salamence seen. It feels good to switch in Salamence and Dragon Dance in a switched in Blissey's face, then DD AGAIN (because a 4/0 Salamence (assuming 31 IVs in HP and SD) can survive an Ice Beam from the standard Blissey with some health left to take maybe one more unboosted or NVE hit), then sweep the opponent's team.

Now, DDMence seems to be the suprising one.

Until wii meet again,

depends on the user

no one thought my fully special team would work cause of blissey

the only pokes that caused it problems were infernape and weavile

it's just how good can you switch in and out

i try not to use the standard set, cause most of the time....they're way to predictable

it's about surprise, prediction, and switching

heck, people have success using butterfree on smogon now

The only reason my terrible gimmick team ever won at all is because so many people on netbattle had copy/pasted smogon standard sets and EV distributions.
