Uhhhhhhhhhh I told Vist I was down but I probably have to work now LOL. If I come I'll bring chicken for mah *****s.

Edit: Oh yeah, I haven't owned a copy of Melee in forever so I can't bring one Vist. >_> But omg, I am so down for a crew battle. Bmore assemble and ****.

Is Hat even attending? And does Frozen know? I'll inform him and Nightmare. If DOSV happens to come down this weekend **** would be flawless.

But yeah, how long is this **** going on? That's the main decider of whether I'm attending or not.
Till whenever really lol. The gameroom is open till like 10 or 12 so basically whenever people want to stay until................

when do u get off work?

I don't LHDL that much anymore. I get countered and fsmashed too much (playing DJ obviously). When we play you should read my ledge hop backwards side B. I have a feeling I will keep doing it this tournament cause DJ falls for it every time so it's like all I do from the ledge anymore... -.-

Falco, Fox, and Pikachu have amazing ledgedashes.

Apparently if you do it frame perfect with Falco, you get like 14 frames of invincibility during which you can act.

WTF 14 frames?!? I feel like when I do it with Mario I get 10 frames MAX, and I thought his was like the best for invincibility... Will definitely have to try it now. I hope level 9s attack you when you do it. ..

Fox and Falco have amazing ledgedashes ... <_<
Fox's is just like his wavedash
Falco's is just like Fox's wavedash, if not a hair slower ... Fox's ledgedash -> Nair is soooooo good you get into like the middle of the stage and you're invincible for most of it

any suggestions for what types of tournaments / events are welcome

I'm thinking some mix of:

-Crew Battle(s) - UMBC vs. UMD / BMORE vs. DC / MD vs. VA
-Low tier Singles
-Low tier Doubles
-Regular Singles
-Regular Doubles
-Random Singles / Doubles

Singles
Low tier Singles
Random character crews (the new player can counterpick stage, but if they do their opponent can choose to stay their character or select random again)

Low tier singles.
Low tier doubles.

Start one near the end of the other and overlap them. Done. If there are lots of tvs and not lots of people, you can run all of these in time pretty well

Done.

anymore input on what events people want? I'm fine with pretty much anything but if any tournamentos go down, I will run them as efficiently as possible (and probably start them around 1 or so)

btw incase anyone is thinking of bringing a TV, you probably shouldn't. We probably won't need it and iirc the commons building (the building w/ the gameroom) may not allow it b/c of liability issues. The gameroom already has 3 (maybe 4) decently-sized tvs along with a big screen that doesn't lag.

We could use copies of me-lee and one gamecube. Also an extension cord might be a good idea incase anyone has one...

recording set up is cool with me

btw a lot of the parking is free on weekends, but make sure you check the signs wherever you park just to be sure.

if you look at the campus map, parking in the commons garage, on commons drive, or anywhere along hilltop circle should be fine AFAIK

The gameroom is on the 3rd level of the Commons building btw, pretty much in the center of the campus.

Also, this is random, but does anyone coming to this have a tri-wing screwdriver I could borrow?

If anyone would like to do the eleven challenge with me, I'll explain. It's pretty much an epic 11-character crew battle between two people. It's really tight LOL and is pretty good practice imo.

Wow you'd be down? Not to brag because I truly wish it wasn't true, but I have a wicked tolerance rofl. I gotta run to DC tomorrow early but I'll be back in balt for this for sure.

I might be off work by 1PM, Vist.

Frozen said he might come, and Nightmare didn't respond. D=

I think I'll just spend my time at this fest standing behind people commentating for old time's sake.

Edit: lol I'll just follow Redd around and commentate.

I would recommend against alcohol because I don't want Vist to lose his venue ಠ_ಠ

Awesome Vist, thanks. I've been meaning to switch out a joystick for a while now.

Wenbo, absolutely lol. There's no way I'd drink at the venue.

Update - there's apparently some huge event going on in Commons so we don't have a place to play at UMBC at the moment - Smashfest might be moved to College Park >_<

Address is:

The Courtyards at University of Maryland
8000 Boteler Lane, College Park, MD 20740
