Oh good, so I'm not the only person whose edit button doesn't work at all.Well, it has recovered. Just gotta be patient until it speeds up again.
Speaking of patient, when is this abomination gonna be taken care of?

YES! Thanks to you all for working hard and staying with it!Smashers,
Today our host managed to get a restore of our database working and we were able to implement additional measures to combat the DDoS attack. We are hopeful these mitigation tactics will hold. No data was lost during this attack and in all the forums were down for 24 days. We appreciate all the patience the Smash community has shown, and if you were wondering what was going on, you weren't following our social media!
While we were down we implemented a temporary frontpage which was well received. We will try to actually get to a frontpage-forum setup like other sites in the near future.
Premium Members: check the disco room for a special gift. If your premium expired during the downtime please send me a PM and I'll get you restored with three months of Premium Membership. It is so early after recovering from the downtime that I'm not sure yet if new Premium Memberships can be accepted and there are likely other kinks as a result of the downtime that will need to be worked out over the next few days.
Thanks Smashers again for sticking with us during this community crisis,
-aZ
I think we all should get a badge for it.I survived the Great Smash DDOS Attack of 2013.
I share similar sentiments, although if we're calling this event anything, I personally think we should call it the Great Smash DDOS Counterattack of 2013 (in reference to the good and exceptional people who helped bring Smashboards back to operational status). Whatever the DDoS-er "did" wasn't that "great" in my opinion (to be honest, it was quite irritating for me, but I can't even begin to describe how it must have felt for AlphaZealot and Premium members, etc.). AlphaZealot among numerous other individuals worked tirelessly and indefatigably to ensure that Smashboards was properly working again, and I'd rather have their efforts (AKA the CounterAttack to the DDoS attack itself) become more well-known in the long run, etched in the grand and storied history of Smashboards. The DDoS-er, whether an individual or a group, needs no more ill-gotten attention than he/she/they have already received, IMHO.I survived the Great Smash DDOS Attack of 2013.
I've mostly kept up about the dire event via Smashboards' Twitter, Facebook, and updates that AlphaZealot and others posted on Reddit's SmashBros subreddit - however, I don't have accounts at those locations, so I mainly lurked/viewed the postings instead. I visited the landing page during the day Peach was announced for SSB4, though.I am surprised that there are so many responses. It seemed like only a couple of individuals were even using the temporary landing page. I was under the impression that not too many people even knew the site was down. I actually searched about a week after the attack to see what people were saying. It was funny. I hardly found anything regarding the subject at all. In fact, I found some antithetical responses. Some people said that the site was up. I thought the problem was on my end. After about another week of not being able to open the site, I went and looked for official word. Smashboards Twitter and Facebook confirmed my suspicions. Either way, I am just glad we are back online. I am also glad that we didn't lose anything in the process. It is great to be back. A month without the Smashboards had the feeling of emptiness. Lol. Anyways... Peach was probably the DDoSser.![]()

I was convinced I was going to lose so much work...this is such a relief.
Is Temple Host still being used? I think the last update people got was from a couple weeks back when they said they were migrating the servers, what's the rest of the story?
