I know I’m in the middle of my SSBU revised thread, but I wanted to make this one after participating in Pupp135 Pupp135 ’s Brawl revised thread. Now, similar to the SSBU revised thread, here are some ground rules.
  1. There will still be two versions (3DS and Wii U)
  2. The base roster will cap off at about 50 characters (5 that are 3DS only, and 5 that are Wii U only, making for about 45 characters for each version)
  3. Unlike my SSBU revised thread, I’m not necessarily aiming for another year of development. I’m mostly doing Smash 4 for fun. no pun intended

Job #2: Submit new stages for the 3DS version and the Wii U version to be shown in the trailer
In the E3 2013 trailer, the 3DS trailer showed:
  • A Mario stage
  • An Ocarina of Time stage
  • A Spirit Tracks stage
  • A Fire Emblem Awakening stage
  • A Nintendogs stage
And the Wii U trailer showed:
  • A Skyward Sword stage
  • An Animal Crossing stage
  • Wii Fit Studio
And both versions are known to have:
  • Battlefield
  • Final Destination
  • Boxing Ring
  • Wily Castle
So aside from the third list, those are going to be the themes for the stages to submit.

Mario Stage: Bowser's Castle

Ocarina of Time Stage: Gerudo Valley (Same)
Spirit Tracks stage: Spirit Train (Same)
Awakening Stage: Arena Ferox (Same)
Nintendogs stage: Living Room (Same)

Skyword Sword stage: Skyloft (Same)

Animal Crossing stage: The Roost

Keeping with Animal Crossing's relaxed stages, The Roost is a stage where the only hazard is lazy platform movement. The stage has a layout similar to WarioWare Inc (thought the blast zones are closer to what Town and City was in Ultimate). The stage's middle platforms and top platforms will alternatingly move back and forth similar to the Smashville platform. Animal Crossing characters will cameo on the stage.

Wii Fit: Same
Boxing Ring: Same
Wily Castle: Only change is a boss toggle is introduced. If you do not want the Yellow Devil terrorizing your games, you can avoid that.
Battlefield: Same
Final Destination: The Wii U version has its background toned down to avoid giving headaches.

3DS stages
  • Super Mario Bros.: Luigi's Dreams
  • Ocarina of Time: Great Deku Tree
  • Spirit Tracks: Spirit Train (same)
  • Fire Emblem Awakening: Arena Ferox (same)
  • Nintendogs: Toy Room (similar to Living Room, but this time around the Nintendog (or Nintencat!) has a stronger interaction with the player)
Wii U stages
  • Skyward Sword: The Sky (similarly to Skyloft, this is a traveling stage, but it is less focused on Skyloft, which is still the main place of interest in this stage, and adds a few stops on other flying isles. It also removes a few stops in Skyloft to save a bit of memory).
  • Animal Crossing: The City (this stage is essentially a larger version of Smashville, with a couple more platforms but overall it's even less "hazardous" than Town and City)
  • Wii Fit: Wii Fit Studio (same)
Shared stages
  • Battlefield (3DS is the same, Wii U has a more sci-fi futuristi aesthetic, inspired by Melee)
  • Final Destination (Wii U has a neutered background but it's otherwise the same, 3DS is also the same as I like the clashing red vs. blue, it reminds me of Smash for Wii U vs. Smash for 3DS)
  • Boxing Ring (now you can no longer walk off the sides! It always felt weird to me you could do it...)
  • Wily Castle (same for both versions)

3DS Stages:
Super Mario Bros. Stage: Bowser's Castle (technically a returning stage from Revised Brawl)
Ocarina of Time Stage: Gerudo Valley (same)
Spirit Tracks Stage: Spirit Train (same)
Fire Emblem Awakening Stage: Arena Ferox (same)
Nintendogs Stage: Toy Room (same as LoZ00 LoZ00 's)

Wii U Stages:
Skyward Sword Stage: Skyloft (same)
Animal Crossing Stage: The Roost (same as TCT~Phantom TCT~Phantom 's)
Wii Fit Stage: Wii Fit Studio (same)

Shared Stages: They incorporate the changes suggested by TCT~Phantom TCT~Phantom and LoZ00 LoZ00 , but otherwise remain the same.

3DS Stages
Mario: Bowser’s Castle
OoT: Ganon’s Tower
Spirit Tracks: Spirit Tracks
Awakening: Arena Ferox
Nintendogs: Living Room

Wii U
Skyward Sword: Skyloft
Animal Crossing: Tortimer Island

I’m fine keeping Wii Fit Studio, FD, Battlefield, Wily Castle, and Boxing Ring identical.

Job #3: Submit 6 veterans to be revealed between E3 and December 2013

6 veterans are going to be revealed here, but with a twist: two of them have to be version-exclusive. Specifically, one veteran is going to be Wii U-only, and the other will be 3DS-only. To clarify: 6 in total, but two will be exclusive to each version. My veteran submission:
  • Ice Climbers (Wii U only)
  • Mr. Game & Watch (3DS only)
  • Luigi
  • Olimar
  • Peach
  • Sonic

Quick question: if for Sheik the transformation mechanic stays if Sheik is exclusive to Wii U...then why is Zelda listed as a seperate character?

Zelda would be on 3ds just without the ability to transform into sheik, we would probably have to give the transformation itself a new animation & ability such as reflecting projectiles that way Zelda's down special still does something on 3DS.
