So Smash Ultimate's DLC has ended and wow, we sure do have a male dominated roster, don't we? A YouTube channel called Backseat had made some so-called "math" to predict that there would be only one female character in Fighters Pass 2, and I am sure glad Pyra and Mythra proved him wrong. Still the lack of female characters in Fighters Pass 1 (outside a bird used as a weapon and a female alt of a default male) does call attention to it, and there are a lot of popular female characters like Lara Croft, Chun-Li, Shantae, and many others. So, I want us to make a Fighters Pass of eight female video game characters. Why eight? So that we can play an Eight-Player Smash with them! We are going through each challenger pack, nominating and voting on the character, stage, movesets, alternate costumes, Spirit Board, music tracks, Classic Mode route and Mii Costumes.
There are a few rules to follow:
There are a few rules to follow:
- Nominated fighters have to be female. That's the point of this pass. You can't nominate any men.
- Each fighter have to be one character. No Ice Climber-styled tag teams. No Down-B transformations. And no name-changing or gender-swapping alts.
- No transgender women. I am not allowing the politics of gender identity here to make transphobic and pro-trans activists argue what a woman is.
- Each fighter must have a name that is not her species or occupation. They also cannot share names with existing Smash fighters.
- The gender restriction is only on the fighters. Male characters are allowed to be used for taunts, Final Smashes, Spirits and Mii Costumes.
- The represented franchise cannot already have more than eight spirits in Smash Ultimate. The new character's franchise could not already have a DLC Spirit Board either.
- The new Spirit Board must contain between eight and sixteen Spirits.
- The game of origin cannot be a licensed game based on a manga, anime, movie, tv, cartoon, comic book or novel, nor can it be a crossover combining various IPs.
- Nominees who lost the initial vote can move on to the vote for the next fighter while the users who nominated them can select a new fighter to be added.
