Glad to know that FD and Battlefield aren't the only stages in both games, so I'm happy about that. Also, the likeliness of us having an option to turn off stage bosses isn't really high, but I absolutely welcome it. It'd be like turning off wispy woods or the lava on brinstar. I know these are completely different types of hazards, but the point is that the devs make stages a certain way, and taking away part of it seems eh. Items are a different story, before anybody retorts with that, because that is almost like a "gamemode" rather than a stage or character or whatever.

Even though I don't think we'll get the option, I do agree that it would be great to have it.

Everyone do the "Filler Dance"!

Fillers til friday ?......leave room for main dish on friday i suppose
How exactly was this and yesterday (ESPECIALLY YESTERDAY) filler?
We got a stage reveal yesterday, and the confirmation of a stage also appearing on another version of the game. Heck, even Monday wasn't filler, as we at least got some new info (nasferatu is more affective from behind).
Honestly it seems like anything that's not a character reveal is now 'filler' :glare:

Yeah, I think 3DS Windy Hill is inevitable at this point. I just hope they do something to make it different, like make the background lighting set in the evening time, which it was in some versions of the level in Sonic Lost World.

I love how a stage announcement is seen as filler, granted this is just the same Wii-U stage with a different look but we couldn't have known that Wily Castle would be on 3DS otherwise.

Every FD outside of the stock one should justifiably be banned. The stage causes enough skewing in matchups with just one of them.
So the effort that Sakurai put to make the competitive community be able to enjoy different aesthetics and especially DIFFERENT MUSIC has to go to waste because you say so?

Sakurai, I have a message from giygas on what veteran needs to be revealed as soon as possible:

Giygas:"NESS, NESS, NESS, NESS, NESS, NESS, NESS, NESS, NESS."
This I agree with. Along with Jigglypuff but I digress.

I actually wanted another Megaman stage though. What about one from Megaman and Bass?

Get off your high horse and take a step back. No one is stopping you from playing on 16 variants of the same stage, but the competitive community as a whole desires fair gameplay facilitated by a variety of stages.

FD is already one of the least neutral starters in the game. Skewing the stage list to include multiple of them is bad form.

Town City, Battlefield, and a single FD isn't much, but it's better than a single stage with different walls.

So let me get this straight:

You mean to say that Town and City, Battlefield, and vanilla FD...is better than those 3, plus all of the FD variants?

I mean, there's probably going to be more legal stages (Halberd, Skyloft, Windy Hill, etc). But still. I don't see what the benefit of cutting FD variants is. They function almost identically to vanilla FD, and are just there for cosmetic/music variety.

I'd imagine stage selection at tournaments would just involve players picking the FD form they want if they pick FD.

Since we now have confirmation that Wily's Castle is in both versions of the game, this means Windy Hill (from Sonic Lost World) will also be on the 3DS (since it was also playable on the 3DS version as well).
No it doesn't. Pacman has a stage for each Version. Sonic might too.

Hmm, this seems to either be the Final Destination form of this stage or the moving platforms seem to be gone from the 3DS version entirely. I'm guessing there's an option to turn off stage bosses as well.

I never expected Wily Castle to be in the day, and I kind of like it. Good work, Sakurai.
The platforms come in and out during the match.

This was easily my least favorite stage in the demo. its too cramped to have this obnoxious bulbous distracting monster take up HALF the stage... not that it would be a better idea on a big stage, whatever.

It's not filler, we never knew what Megaman's home stage would be on the 3DS. It is, however, super lame.
Youd think wed have a different one on 3ds like w Pacman. Unless the third parties both get two stages; the same on both systems.

Stage bosses finally confirmed for 3DS? YEAA-dammit. Yellow Devil... Anyway, we still don't know if The Dark Lord is fightable, nor Viridi, right? And I kind of hope Twin Rova fuses together for a stage boss on Gerudo Valley. I know we played the demo, but Nabbit goes to show the stages weren't complete.

they should have put a castle from another mega man game instead and dropped yellow devil. Mega Man 2 isn't the only Mega Man game. I hope it has different music than the wii u version but I doubt it

I'm a real gamer and this stage sucks. I played mega man 1-3 all the way through as well.
I'm not sure what playing the games has to do with it, that doesn't make it a bad stage, I've made it appoint to buy and beat every Megaman game released to the US.

The FD version of stages wont be banned because they're flat, no stage hazards, nothing but the flat stage, they're perfectly fine for legalization, silly goose. :joyful:
Lol, 'real gamer'... u serious bro?
Im sorry, i didnt know that being a real gamer meant that i should enjoy disruptive gameplay. thnx for the heads up
"real gamer" Really? lol I just don't like wack stage bosses/hazards ruining the flow of the match it is pointless and dumb.
A real game takes on any challenge put in front of him head on, that's all I'm sayin. No need to get mad, bro(s). :seuss:

Kirby Fighters has an off switch for hazards, so I'd hope SSB4 would too...

It has everything to do with it really. I'm a fan of megaman and still don't like this stage. Even though considering how much I love megaman I still think this stage is horrible. So when yellow devil comes out and he's not destroyed you have a bunch of characters jumping at each other doing neutral A attack. That sounds really exciting to watch and play. As far as we know it they won't add L cancelling so your smarter play while dodging yellow stuff is to neutral A in order to recover in time to jump again so you don't take stage hazard damage. That doesn't sound like a whole lot of fun to me bro.

Is it worth buying both?
If you have a 3ds and Wii U of course it's worth it.

All I see it as is a challenge, I guess. That's all I see stage hazards as, added challenges meant to be defeated. as for the L-canceling... I doubt it'll be put it, recovery is placed in a game for a reason, but who knows, maybe. I'm glad they're taking wave dashing out, that **** was so annoying, I can do it but that makes it no less aggravating.

I thought the Yellow Devil was obnoxious and waayy too frequent, but stage-bosses are an interesting idea.

This gives more reason to see moves like Falcon Pawnch used in a real battle: when the Falcon wants to get rid of the devil...

I'm guessing stage bosses may well be one of the reasons behind the delay? And although it's probably nothing... I can't shake the feeling that this maaaaay just be a slight hint towards everyone's favorite giant purple space dragon... Hell, we've yet to see a Metroid stage on the 3DS. So I guess Sakurai's ruse-cruise is still soldering on at full force. :ohwell:
