I've been getting a lot of cramps in my wrist and I'm wondering if I play too much Smash...

It might also be my job where I do a lot of typing.

Anyone else experience anything similar?

I have a friend who's experienced something like this lately, aswell. Pretty interesting though, I guess its the internetz + smash that does it.

It's probably mostly the typing, and the Smash is making it worse. Remember to take breaks, and try and adjust the keyboard if possible so that when you're typing your wrists are not bent.

My wrist cracks a lot. Went to the doctor numerous times, all came back with nothing on MRIs or X-Rays, but him saying "Well, these show nothing, but you are in pain and that cracking is bad..." Thanks, doc.

I know exactly how and when my started though.

I'm sure the 4+ hours of GH/Rock Band a week that I've been playing for the past 2 years hasn't been too good for my wrists.

I would be very surprised if I didn't have some kind of wrist condition by the time I'm 25. I played StepMania (on very high speeds/difficulties) for around 2 years, after which I picked up competitive Smash. I'm always on my computer when I'm at home, unless I'm playing Smash ...

Maybe (hopefully) Asians don't get carpal tunnel though...

I used to have the same problem, started rotating my wrists more though and taking breaks from both typing and the net, it happens.

Its probably the combination, not either or..

Either way, Asians are a lot more resistant, I mean, ive been playing games/typing/doing *other* wrist activities for years and I hardly feel any pain, ever. Although I do get the occasional throbbing =\..

I've always been very wary about my hand positions when I'm playing games or keyboards. I guess it goes along with learning to play guitar correctly. It teaches you that if something is uncomfortable, it's for a reason and you should change immediately. I can play games for over 12 hours straight, Rock Band, Guitar Hero, Starcraft, Smash, Counterstrike, and tons more.

Pay attention to your body when you're playing, you'll notice that you get really uncomfortable. If you do and cater to your poor vessel, then you can play for much longer.

Counterstrike hard on the wrists?

Am I the only one that flails his entire arm while aiming? I feel ********, by I get those kickass flick shots all day, and my twitch skill is rather good IMO.

Counterstrike can be hard on the wrists, depending on how you play. I aim mostly with my wrist while using a low sensitivity. And for your left hand it could be bad because if you rest your wrist on your keyboards for hours in intensive play, you can harm yourself.

Most people use their fingers when they play video games. ;)

Xdadepsak's Closet, along with Ender, Mkiller, and
My closet friends all have wrist problems from extreme sports, smash brothers, and finger loving themselves and their loved one's pearl jam.

I broke my **** up pretty good too, after you get carpal you just have to adjust your life so that you are safer when you skateboard or take breaks when play smash

but that won't happen

If you're trying to figure out a way to masturbait less or have to finger bang your loved one less then you can try Romance, sometimes it works as foreplay instead.
But it usually costs more so that sucks too.

Most people actually go to work when they get a job. ;)
Most people actually ... you know what? You just suck. Go drink a Pepsi can through a straw. :p

Back on topic, I had some sore wrists after working at my office job for the fist month or so (the one I didn't actually go to), but after a while, the pain just went away. Hopefully, yours is temporary.

(Hopefully not, actually...)

Well I played wow all day and stay on the comp all day. And when I'm not on the comp I'm playing a console game..

No problems yet.
