lol he won without his chaingrabs. i thought that was a great display of how good he really is with his char and got way more stocks than you would have
@stevo so exactly what i said, and chu's regrabs are mashable and can be DI'ed out of. i have been working on handoff more than wobbling anyways.
also for anyone wondering im normally this hostile about ice climbers in this forum.
that switching mains comment was extremely disrespectful considering you should all just be grateful to have someone to represent ics and learn the matchup with

They're entertaining cuz it shows a display of adapting to the situation and technical ability. If they're styling, shows creativity even.

almost nothing in melee is guaranteed. just because you can mash and DI out of things sometimes doesn't make them bad necessarily. (though it CAN make them strictly inferior techniques to something guaranteed, which is part of the reason why I dislike Wobbling) Granted, Wobbling can be difficult sometimes to perform perfectly anyway.
I personally like that you have to adapt in melee.

EDIT: and play whatever character you want, and do whatever you want (within the rules).

I play melee to keep me humble about my own abilities and build my confidence in them. out of all the top tiers ic's really have to adapt the most considering how quickly you can be seperated and have nana 0-death in a couple attacks. you cant just run in to save her everytime you have to condition your opponent. wobbling is not close to guaranteed either, i need to have nana synced and pummel before they can mash out.

its not hate, that would just give me more fuel.
it complete lack of understanding and not even caring to learn that bugs me. if anyone has questions about ice climbers or advice against them i would be happy to provide that.

If I go to this (which'll be highly likely; just waiting on my new controller), I'll enter Brawl Doubles/Singles, Melee Singles and Project: M.

I don't understand why you include the comment when I was applauding his performance.

hey, could be worse. you play ICs and not jiggs. People hate the entire character of jiggs lol.
...I like Jiggs.

Yeaaaah buddy!

Wobbling banned is pretty scrub tier.
>thatsthediscussion

Needless to say, it's only there because of copy/paste rules. I do not really think it's worth being banned considering the only person who would/could do it is Clarke, and I don't see him doing it unless the situation is dire.

I'm changing it so wobbling isn't banned, but respect should be considered.

Also dubs 5$ entry?
You just want money lol

To tell you the truth, last tournament doubles had 3 teams for brawl, which wasn't worth running. I would rather run a free event and allow more people to join and have fun. Perhaps we can include some kind of prize still.

This is subject to change but holds firm for now.

But I'm seeing what I can do, still need splitters because they are seemingly impossible to find now.

I have one set of splitters (as in splits one red/white/yellow into 2) you can borrow, I'll bring them with. I'll bring my mic again too, overall it's served us well. (I'll also bring a wii for brawl/project M)

Wobbling allowed would be fine. #dontgetgrabbed
the real tragedy is I can't enter melee as Masterhand

Technically, I don't recall banning it

as for splitters, I may have my setup ready by then but I'll let you know, thanks either way. Definately can use the mic, it's just USB right?

Regarding setups, please anyone who can bring a TV let me know ASAP, we're gonna need a lot

Well I'm hoping people can work together cause it seems most people willing to provide TV's don't have cars.

But I would like around 10 setups. In order to handle time constraints.

edit: Which I think is easily do-able if people put in the effort

I would like to take this opportunity to fire shots at alll those calgary players who do not bring setups and just sit down and play every week. If i didnt bring my setup almost everytime you guys wouldnt even be able to play melee half the time. Ben, daniel and I consistantly support this community and alot of calgary players take for it granted. i cant remember the last time i went to FGCC where anyone else else has melee, memcard, or game cube.
c'mon people

Was it cheaper than playasia? o_O
... $80 later. That's exactly why I'm going to be changing my playing style permanently so that this controller will last throughout the remains of my Brawl career (until the new Smash hits where we'll likely be using new controllers)

Nintendo hurry up and make GCN controller converters for WiiU and re-release smash in HD on WiiU, and make new official GCN controllers.

Just do it

That's why I hate fighting ****ing ice climbers. Mashing to escape a grab, I can just feel the lifespan of my controller shrink.

XD

Probably 90% of the reason I don't do good in friendlies is because I try to be nice to my controller.

Oh hey, this thread got bigger.

I tore the grip off of my analogue a while back. I think I'll still use it due to the hassle of getting new GCN controllers and the fact that I wear gloves so it's still mostly k.

Anyway, I'll be entering Brawl singles and doubles, and I'll be potfeeding Project M singles. I'll potfeed doubles and Melee doubles too if someone is willing to team, haha.

Steve mashes smash attacks as mario and luigi harder than an MK player mashes the b button when they're nadoing... And both are equally as effective.
