Smash Brothers Melee in Towson, MD

So yea, my roomates and I haven't played smash and have been out of the smash scene for a long while now, and just got back into it a few weeks ago, when a thought occurred to me. My apartment's living room should be enough to fit 7 or 8 Tv's comfortably with plenty of walking room. (I've been to smash get togethers where there's no walking room and is very cramped) I was poking my head in these forums to see if anyone around Towson MD still plays this gem of a game.

I don't have a specific date set out for this, but it would probably be around late Mayish or early June. I also want to make sure that enough people would show up. I plan to have a few tournaments set up with however many people attending, admission to tournament would probably be around $10 with 70-20-10% pot winnings. This isn't tournament exclusive and anyone of whatever skill level is welcome to come. Note - For the spirit of the occasion we would only be playing Melee.

There would be free food and drink and beer and Smash Till Dawn.

I will have more specific details about this if I see that enough people respond.

This sounds awesome, definitely keep us updated if you come up with more definite plans. I live 15 minutes from Towson and I have friends that go there and College Park that play melee and would probably interested. I'm at school in Connecticut right now but I'd definitely be down for it if its in late May or early June.

Ok, so update... We're gonna have the smashfest on Friday, the 22nd of May. I realize that's like a month from now, but i wanna be able to enjoy myself and not have to worry about ****ing finals n what not. With that being said, the smashfest will carry on into Saturday, so plan to take off. Obviously we would require supplies. We have a total of 2 good-size TV's, a GC and a Wii, w/ 2 memory cards. Bringing a TV or GC or Wii w/ memory cards would be appreciated. As always, BYOC.

The address is 15 Kenlawn Ct. Towson, MD, 21204. As previously stated, I plan on hosting a singles and team tournament, entry fee will probably be around $7-10, there will be a LIMITED supply of FREE food n drink, including burr . We will be abiding by Tournament Legal rules as depicted on SmashWiki, try to be familiar with them. Anyone is welcome, you don't have to worry about paying at the door, so just come one in. Including the Smashfest, I was thinking of trying to set up a Starcraft lan. It doesn't have to be that, but we may have some extra room to set up a small lan of some sort. Suggestions?

Once again, this is not tournament exclusive, anyone of any skill level is welcome to come, the more the better. If this proves to be a success, I hope to have bi or tri-weekly smashfests at my place.

I agree, I guess i really didn't make this very official looking. i will start a new thread with alot more specific information w/ zazz, once i find the time.

as for getting a ride, that might be able to be arranged...

Theres 3 of us in the apartment, we play pretty extensively. the only thing is like, we mostly only play each other, so 'extensively' is relative, lol. The last time we went to a smash fest i thought i was totally gonna kick *** which did NOT happen. I'd like to think I've improved since a few years back...
