Smash Bros IRC Thread

since this is my home group I'll post it here first. I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in having an Irc channel dedicated to smash bros, just to be able to talk to different regions at once. I'll post how to set up everything in case people are lazy and john about not being able to find Irc links and downloads.

How to set up your Irc

:NOTICE: - You can also use mIRC as mibbit.com in order to join this channel, it doesn't matter what you use, however the tutorial does xchat so that it's easier to follow :]

1) Download XChat (recommended, I'm not sure how mIRC works so this would be best to follow)
Download XChat here

2) Opening xchat. You'll see your User Information, along with a networks list. Change your Nick Name and Second Choice accordingly (third choice if you'd like but i don't feel it'll be necessary)

3) we'll be adding a new network, so add a network by clicking on the add button

4) Change the name to something you'll remember and press edit.

5) in your new pop-up window. add the server irc.adelais.net and put #smashbros as your favorite channel so it'll join immediately on joining the server.

6) now you're done! Close the box and connect to your new network. To change your name press "/nick (insert name here)

people can join in on mibbit.com without having to download any program.

have it set up like that, and enter your own nick.

well it really doesn't matter what you use, i just said XChat so it's easier to follow and looks familiar, i don't know what mIRC looks like :/

csirc *****, but i cant remember how the **** to work the dumb auto away system. It's been like, 4 years or so.

I remember addict3 was off the chain too.

But default irc w/ color/font changes = the win.

Pidgin is the best way to go about using IRC, because you can use it for other chat servers as well. mIRC is really annoying if you don't want to register, but Pidgin is really cool and easy to use. And unlike Trillian, it doesn't royally screw up your color scheme for mIRC users, at least not in my experience..

I've noticed a couple of people entering a leaving the Irc. Just keep yourself idle and people are bound to talk to you on it :]
