Hey everyone! Us again
With new information for our Smash Bros 64 Tournament.

We are looking for laid-back people who can provide some competition.
All ages are welcome. To spice things up there will be a $10 buy-in.

The Skill levels are pretty high so the competition should be great!

Entry Fee:
1v1 $10

Prizes: (15% of the prizes will go to House to cover cost, the rest given to the players in the following percentages)

Singles:
1st place - 70% of prize (est of $224)
2nd place - 15% of prize (est of $48)
3rd place - gets back their buy-in

Doubles:
Buy-in is $10 each person ($20 per team)
- 2v2 Single elimination
- Will start before singles
- As far as game play - singles rules apply


Date: Saturday August 23, 2008
People can arrive as early as 11AM
Tournament Starts: when all contestants arrive
(absolute latest 2PM)
Singles Start, then Doubles if wanted
Tournament ends: then kick back begins. but gaming still continues.


Tournament Rules

•Double Elimination
•All matches are best of 3, with finals best of 5.
•5 stock, No Time limit
However excessive STALLING is NOT allowed! If caught doing so, you will be asked to stopped with a warning. If you continue to do so, you will forfeit the match.
•Items OFF


•Stages/Characters Choices:
••Stages available: Peach's Castle, Hyrule Temple, Dreamland and Congo Jungle.
••Counter Stages are: Saffron City and Sector Z
••Stages Banned are: Mushroom Kingdom, Yoshi's Island, and Planet Zebes

•First round stage is random unless players can agree upon a stage
•Advanced Slob Picks - Loser may choose the next stage or elect to go to random, then winner may choose to change characters, then loser may change characters
•Double Blind may be called in the first match


--You are responsible to BRING YOUR OWN CONTROLLER.
Bringing Food and Beverages welcomed. Some will be Provided.

*Rules are STILL subject to change by registered surveys.

Root Beer is pretty good. To each their own. Id take beer anyday as long as its a brand I like... lol.

Yeah... if you chug your beer like a attention who*r teenager. If you have tolerance to alcohol then you could have 2-3 beers while playing and not even be more than slightly buzzed.

Then after the tourney break out the heavy drinking, get tipsy and go home without puking, that would be my aim if I went lol...

I was nervous before Pools at my last melee tournament I attended and I smoked a pretty big joint to myself and ended up not only making it out of pools but winning a few rounds in the actual tournament itself.. Until PKMvodka donkey ***** me lolol.

then AFTER the tournament we broke out the drinks and the bong and got wasted. Theres nothing wrong with beer/drugs at a video game tourney as long as you moderate it man.

Yep obviously you have to moderate alcohol otherwise it can take bad effects on your gaming.
Oh and... well maybe its not correct to say this but cocaine sure must help you improve a lot during the effects

Done this too many times, I know how it is. I try pulling all the crazy combos but when drunk it just ends up hurting me more than helping me, haha. In fact, playing online on a laggy server just about equates PERFECTLY with the drunken smash experience...

We are looking to fill 32 contestant spots (we are currently at 23).
LOCATION: Pasadena, CA. (registration is needed for address)
WHEN: Saturday, August 23, 2008
TIME: We will be there by 10am but tournament starts when everyone arrives. (2pm absolute latest)
Feel free to bring food and drinks, alcoholic beverages still welcome.. (its not only a tournament, its a lil smash party) and so just there are no complaints in game-play, PLEASE Bring your own Controllers.
