Normal eight songs.Are we only doing two songs or?
Don't think so, according to Swamp's earlier post. It'd be too boring. Just 8 like before, but choose the two tracks you THINK will be in the game at top.Are we only doing two songs or?
It will count as a pre-existing track.Quick Question - if we use Poke Floats, does that count as our medley or can we still do another medley because it's a pre-existing track?
Well, it HAD to be a 3DS stage next, 'cos the last one (or two) were Wii U stages used.Pokemon is my strong suit for music, but I'd have preferred to do the Kalos Pokemon League. Oh well, off to work on my list!
Edit: Yay! 1000th post! Changed my avatar to show my happiness!
Pokemon Colleseum, XD and all those others are still owned by Nintendo.I'd say that, but considering that most console games are done by a third party and Nintendo doesn't nessecarily have the rights to them (especially since apparently Pokemon in smash's a logistical nightmare in itself and Game Freak's only second party), in terms of feasability you're still looking at the main handheld series for the Pokemon League, I'd think.
You actually can. you just have to hold Alt+(type in a code using the number pad). For instance, on windows comps:Unfortunately, if you're using an American keyboard, you can't type accented characters.
If it makes you feel better, your list was one of my favorites, though I admit that the lack of variety left something to be desired.Bans for everyone! You're banned! You're banned! Brawler s getting a triple ban and a horrible name change!
.......
I was going for a more experimental, out-of-the-box approach with songs that I feel would make interesting additions. For example, my favorite track in Brawl is easily "Calling to the Moon" and I love played that on Shadow Moses Island. Songs like Forest Haven and Romance in the Air are rather peaceful songs but I felt they carried a certain niche for those who appreciate those songs on a stage. As well, I was kind of going for light-hearted or positive songs as Skyloft is a peaceful place untouched by evil with a few exceptions. With the stage soaring in the air, I wanted to include songs that sort of portray this idea The Forest Haven since Toon Link uses the Deku Leaf here, Malo Mart because the sky is the limit for the little guy, Castle Town since it is just so pleasant.
I severely underestimated how not having a Zelda theme song as well as having more than a few SS tracks would hurt me. Regardless, it was fun ans thank you to the judges for helping score! even if I was one of the lowest scored....
Oh, I did forget about that thing! Yeah, you can insert a few special characters by using Alt+<code> commands, but it's far less convenient than other methods...You actually can. you just have to hold Alt+(type in a code using the number pad). For instance, on windows comps:
á = Alt + 0225
é = Alt + 0233
í = Alt + 0237
ó = Alt + 0243
ú = Alt + 0250
ñ = Alt + 0241
ü = Alt + 0252
¡ = Alt + 0161
¿ = Alt + 0191

I already know who's gonna have the lowest grades possible.That feel when you're not judging!
Maybe I'll make a list for funsies. I think I know a thing of two about Pokemon.
Who knows?
If I do, judges, don't count me. Grade me. But don't count me as a participant.
Would a game like Pokemon Conquest count? Considering it's a crossover game.Pokemon Colleseum, XD and all those others are still owned by Nintendo.
It should be no problem!
Am I still atoning for my sins of not grading on time?I already know who's gonna have the lowest grades possible.
Oh.... That's a toughie....Would a game like Pokemon Conquest count? Considering it's a crossover game.
OBJECTION!!Reason: Saffron City itself has been a stage in the Smash Bros. series, but its theme music has never appeared. It's time to fix that.
You've got me. I'll admit when I was wrong. To be fair, though, you're correct in that I do wish they'd use it as a standalone piece.OBJECTION!!
Saffron City's theme has indeed appeared in the series. TAKE THAT!!
It's the second half of this delightful tune. But indeed, the song is worthy to stand on its own.
I'll work on a tracklist when I have a chance... Working on the weekend's a downer.
Really? It's Pokemon! You got pl-ENTY of options."Sorry guys, I'm going have to sit this one out!"
-Peppy Hare
I thought I had this, but I'm having a hard time... I'll catch (har har) everyone next round.
Well, when does the contest entry period end? I think it's pretty soon, and I haven't gotten started. (Plus, I haven't played X and Y yet... *GASP*)Really? It's Pokemon! You got pl-ENTY of options.
If you're not a big Pokemon fan, then fair enough.Well, when does the contest entry period end? I think it's pretty soon, and I haven't gotten started. (Plus, I haven't played X and Y yet... *GASP*)
My last 'Mon games was Sapphire.
I have it just about finished. Only need one more thing to do and it should be up tonight. Don't close the round without me, please...Remember to send in your entries guys!
I'm a fan, I just haven't really gotten around to getting one in a while.If you're not a big Pokemon fan, then fair enough.
I think Swamp may keep submission time on longer, as there hasn't been many of us who have entered atm. I'm typing mine up as we speak.
PRISM TOWER
No. 1 and 2 are my special picks!
1. Lumiose City - Pokemon XY *
As the stage is set in Lumiose City, it makes the most sense for this song to be the default music. It can also be seen as the signature song for Pokemon XY, as it was used from the get-go ever since Pokemon XY was officially announced at beginning of 2013. The song itself is nice on the ears; holding the sense ofadventure and optimism that Pokemon is known for.
2. Poke Floats - Pokemon/SSB *
Figured we'd need at least ONE returning track for a Pokemon stage. Look at past tracks, this feels one of the more fitting tracks for Prism Tower (if only both Prism Tower and Melee stage Pokefloats both revolve around floating/moving platforms). A tribute to early Pokemon games, the familiar tones can put a smile on those who remember. The song also has a serious, determined tone, which will add variety to this tracklist.
-------------------------------------
3. Rival Battle - Pokemon XY
Whoever thought rivals would have such a light-hearted theme tune? This may not be the most popular, but I believe it to be one of the favourites of X/Y. A spiritful theme that gives the most competitive fights a fun spin on them. X/Y's story also focused on the theme of bonds and friendship (bleh), so this theme probably feels more at home representing X/Y.
4. Super Training / Secret Super Training! - Pokemon XY
I used a similar concept of this for Byrne's theme in my Spirit Tracks playlist. Basically, the default music that plays here would be the first track. However, when it comes down to sudden death, or the last two standing, the secondary song will transition into play.
I like both songs for different reasons. Super Training is fun and energetic, making you want to get up and exercise. Secret Super Training has a more climatic atmosphere, which works in a sudden death situation, hence why I use this idea. Together, they make a nice gimmick that I wish Sakurai would consider implementing for at least one time in his SSB franchise.
(i.e. this is NOT designed as a medley. They are meant to be played in different situations.)
5. Route 10 - Pokemon Black/White
Spear Pillar in SSBB had Route 209. The remix itself was very nice, but it just did not fit the stage at all.
Route 10, however, can sit comfortably. Route 10 stands out as one of the better tracks from Gen 5 for good reason. Played in the Route before Victory Road, it reminds you of how far you have travelled in your journey, and now you're towards the home stretch.
One of the instruments used reminds me of an accordion, which relates to the French setting of Kalos (X/Y), which is one reason why the song sit well on this stage. The other reason? It's just a strong melody that deserves a spot in My Music.
6. Champion Iris! - Pokemon Black/White 2
The most surprising Champion in both theme and character, this song stands out from Champion themes. It starts off as lighthearted and friendly (blasted lack of vocabulary) but quickly reminds you that you are still fighting for the Champion title with its sudden change of mood. Also, this Champion battle has you fighting a pre-teen princess girl on rainbow road with dragons. You can't not forget a fight like this.
7. Sky Tower - PMD: Blue/Red Rescue Team
If there's a soundtrack that needs more recognition, it's from the PMD series. They're by no means better than the mainstream Pokemon games, but by god, is their music outstanding. Sky Tower is probably the most loved track from the first PMD game(s), and with good reason. It's instruments are enchancting and soothing, contrasting with the concept that it plays on the last dungeon of the game before the final boss. In hindsight, it's a way of keeping a player calm and positive in preperation of the big fight.
Anyway, as great as the song is, the title "Sky Tower" merges well with the stage's concept of ascending and revolving around a huge tower in the air/sky. Just another way of saying "it fit wells here."
8. Battle! Gym Leader Medley:
- Pokemon Gym (0:00-0:05)
{ Kanto Gym Leader (0:00-0:44)
{ Johto Gym Leader (5:13-6:16)
{ Hoenn Gym Leader (9:18-10:11)
{ Kalos Gym Leader (16:16-16:56)
{ Gym Leader Defeated! (0:04-0:17)
{ restarts to Kanto Gym Leader.
The Kalos Gym Leader itself may have had a viable enough entry on its own, but I thought it felt underwhelming. But it would be hard to choose another Gym Leader track to replace, so I figured, why not make medley of the best together?
Because the Prism Tower is actually a Pokemon Gym in disguise, we needed some form of Gym Leader music applied. So here's the best of the bunch, blended carefully together. The first and last tracks in the medley are mainly segways, but are also nostalgic in their own way. Not much I can say, other than, "Medley was super effective! You whited out!"
Aaaaah, it does my heart good to see more people include Mystery Dungeon music.7. Sky Tower - PMD: Blue/Red Rescue Team

I haven't made it that far in the games yet. Also, they could be saving them for the Kalos League stage.Maybe my eyes are bad as I've just done a quick skim of the lists, but how come no one's used the Xerneas/Yveltal or Kanto Legendary Remix songs from X & Y?
