Are we only doing two songs or?
Don't think so, according to Swamp's earlier post. It'd be too boring. Just 8 like before, but choose the two tracks you THINK will be in the game at top.

Edit: beaten to the punch.

Quick Question - if we use Poke Floats, does that count as our medley or can we still do another medley because it's a pre-existing track?
It will count as a pre-existing track.

Pokemon is my strong suit for music, but I'd have preferred to do the Kalos Pokemon League. Oh well, off to work on my list!

Edit: Yay! 1000th post! Changed my avatar to show my happiness!

Well, it HAD to be a 3DS stage next, 'cos the last one (or two) were Wii U stages used.

The way I see it, just focus on music from handheld Pokemon games for this round. Save music from home console games for the Kalos League stage. Makes the most balanced sense. :]

I'd say that, but considering that most console games are done by a third party and Nintendo doesn't nessecarily have the rights to them (especially since apparently Pokemon in smash's a logistical nightmare in itself and Game Freak's only second party), in terms of feasability you're still looking at the main handheld series for the Pokemon League, I'd think.

Pokemon Colleseum, XD and all those others are still owned by Nintendo.

It should be no problem!

Well, that answers my final question then!

I actually anticipated this one, so I’ve pretty much got a track list done. Because it’s a stage that moves from to location to location, I wanted to focus on tracks that have a lot of movement, to emphasise the journey that one goes on through the level. (also because Pokemon League is a stage that exists, which is MUCH more focused on battle themes) Also, because neither generation have been represented in Smash yet, I decided to focus on Gen V and Gen VI tracks. In addition, i’ve left a LOT of the more normal pokemon songs (primarily the battle themes) for the Pokemon League stage, because they work a lot better on there. Just full warning.

Luminose Medley (Pokemon X/Y) (Day: Luminose City - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x60KfmRIpbc Dusk: Sycamore’s Theme - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RRGInmOhTQ Night: KISEKI - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rRg6v9f2dA before a hushed Luminose City remix plays as the day awakens and the Medley repeats) - Contains my first pick, Luminose City

Luminose Medley (Day: Luminose City - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x60KfmRIpbc Dusk: Professor Sycamore’s Theme - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RRGInmOhTQ Night: KISEKI (Credits Theme) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rRg6v9f2dA before a hushed Luminose City plays as the day awakens and the Medley repeats)

Hoo boy, I've got some explaining to do.

We know that Prism Tower changes times throughout the day, so I felt that what the stages direly needs is a medley of songs related to Luminose City that’s synched to play at different parts of the day. To start with, during the day, I feel that Luminose City - aka the central heart of the city, one of the more iconic songs from the track and the song most associated with Prisim Tower in the games - gives a nice ‘hustle and bustle’ atmosphere in relation to the day activities which makes it work as a battle theme. The buildup continues with Professor Sycamore’s theme, a somewhat mysterious track that fits in with the melancholy of the end of the day, as the stage moves into dusk. Then, as nighttime approaches, KISEKI, bursts into life, creating a calm yet epic atmosphere as fighters duke it out at the top, a sense of accomplishment for surmounting the tower. The end of KISEKI then plays the descent down as dawn approaches, before moving back into the Luminose City theme as the cycle repeats. Yes, they're not the most adrenaline-pumping track in Pokemon’s repertoire, but they're all tracks that are important to Pokemon X/Y and fulfil the role of representing Prism Tower, as well as creating a really awesome battle track.

Poke Floats (Melee) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0zGha4xwyeA

Had to have it in here somewhere - the original moving stage pokemon track, once again it’s not too harsh that it doesn’t fit in with Prisim Tower, but keeps the pace. My choice for the alt track, just because whilst it works very well as a song, it’s one deeply associated with Smash so I don’t want it taking centre stage. Not much else to say about it, though!

Team Plasma Battle Theme (Black/White Version) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cp3FtEaV7tQ

Hey, another battle theme! Whilst also representing the more electrical side of Prism Tower (especially with the whole ‘moving platform thing’), it doesn’t look like we’re going to get a Gen V stage, so we need some Black/White music in here somewhere. I chose Plasma because everyone seems to like it (including me!) and once again it encapsulates motion very well. I chose this over the Neo Team Plasma them because that has too much going on to allow the gliding of notes that’s prevalent in the original, which is part of why it works so well on the stage. It also fits with Brawl having the Team Galactic Theme, because Team Flare just doesn't work on this stage for me.

Onwards to Our Own Futures (Black/White Credits Theme) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3yYGioc7cY

This is, above all tracks, the one I want to see in Smash because I feel like the original sound font doesn’t do it justice. Once again, it has moments of ascending and moments of calm as if one’s climbed a summit, which gives the effect of the song feeling like a complete journey. This one has more epic undertones than the medley, which perhaps makes it more fitting for Smash.

Super Training (Pokemon XY) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ll8QsWL-rTg

Whilst I’ve actually included three XY songs already, they’re all on the same track. Kinda low representation for the key generation! To begin with, this song definitely has the movement and pace I’m looking for in terms of a song for smash, however it also manages to loop into itself REALLY well, which is good considering most of the pokemon songs have to loop into themselves a lot. This’d be a new arrangement, with the song being more hushed as it goes up the tower. In a perfect world, I might have this with something else but then it’s a medley and I think this works as a standalone piece anyway. I REALLY want to put this with either the Secret Super Training theme and/or the Bicycle theme, because they all have the same things going for them, but super training's probably the best track out of them. Plus, it represents the extra modes of XY, which counts for something.

Pokemon Gym (Pokemon Series) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoL6UWofgdM

Prisim tower is a GYM. To start of with, this makes it near mandatory. Rather than rising through excited movement, this feels more like a procedural crawl to the summit - this sense of building tension, in addition to fitting in with Prisim Tower being a gym, makes it a perfect choice. Mushc like super training, it'd work best with another song to give it a bit more variety (in Brawl it was Gym/Evolution, but I’m not sure if that’s what I’d use this time around because I didn't think that was too good) but the version would probably be something most similar to Brawl’s, so that’s the one I’ve linked. It'd be a new arrangement, though.

Pokemon Main Theme (Pokemon Series) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaaD9CnWgig

Not entirely sure if this is the version I’d use, but it’s probably confirmed to be in Smash so I’ll stick with it. Arguably the most famous pokemon song in existence, this gets my vote for primarily the same reasons as the Pokemon Gym - it's iconic and it contains a slow rising build but with better payoff than the gym theme. I'd also love to see a more techno version of this in the game! That'd be really cool.

Boss Battle (Learn with Pokemon: Typing Adventure!) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjtl6MY7UEo

This song manages to mix together the electrical themes of techno, the super intense pacing and movement of both a moving stage such as this and of smash in general, it’s pretty well-known on the internet at least and it’s just so darn good that none of that really matters. It’s pokemon-themed and a perfect fit to the stage. why must a typing game have so good music

Bans for everyone! You're banned! You're banned! Brawler s getting a triple ban and a horrible name change!

.......

I was going for a more experimental, out-of-the-box approach with songs that I feel would make interesting additions. For example, my favorite track in Brawl is easily "Calling to the Moon" and I love played that on Shadow Moses Island. Songs like Forest Haven and Romance in the Air are rather peaceful songs but I felt they carried a certain niche for those who appreciate those songs on a stage. As well, I was kind of going for light-hearted or positive songs as Skyloft is a peaceful place untouched by evil with a few exceptions. With the stage soaring in the air, I wanted to include songs that sort of portray this idea The Forest Haven since Toon Link uses the Deku Leaf here, Malo Mart because the sky is the limit for the little guy, Castle Town since it is just so pleasant.

I severely underestimated how not having a Zelda theme song as well as having more than a few SS tracks would hurt me. Regardless, it was fun ans thank you to the judges for helping score! even if I was one of the lowest scored....
If it makes you feel better, your list was one of my favorites, though I admit that the lack of variety left something to be desired.

Bolded are my "special picks".

Song: Lumiose City
Source: Pokémon X & Y (3DS, 2013)
Reason: The stage takes place in Lumiose City, so it's pretty obvious why I picked this. The track itself is highly memorable for the simple fact that players spend so much time in Lumiose while playing the game. The celebratory, romantic style of the theme, with its strings and orchestral elements, coupled with its brisk speed and tempo, make it a fitting accompaniment for a stage set high in the sky, soaring above the clouds while looking down on the City of Beauty in all its scope.

Song: Pokémon Gym / Evolution
Source: Pokémon Red & Blue Versions (GB, 1996) / Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii, 2008)
Reason: The instant I heard this composition in Brawl, it was love at first listen. It's such a triumphant remix of such a ubiquitous (and already triumphant) theme. Since Prism Tower is itself a gym (and this theme plays here in X/Y), it's a no-brainer to include. The additional "Evolution" bit fittingly ties into the theme of Mega Evolution that Generation VI so relentlessly pushes.

Song: Castelia City
Source: Pokémon Black & White Versions (DS, 2010)
Reason: Because Sakurai/Game Freak are screwing us out of a Gen V stage. But really, it's pretty obvious why. Castelia City is the large city hub of Gen V, as Lumiose is to Gen VI, and in a way, one could consider Castelia to be Lumiose's precursor. This jazzy little tune is a little more suave than the more whimsical Lumiose theme, and provides a nice complement. It's not intense, so it's definitely not intended to be battle music, but I think it'd fit the stage well, and be a nice nod to the first "mega city" in the Pokémon series. I can imagine it fitting especially well during the sunset phase of the stage.

Song: Super Training
Source: Pokémon X & Y (3DS, 2013)
Reason: It's another one of those tracks whose memorability, earned through endless repetition, earns it a spot. That MIDI-like horn sound and rock guitar combination epitomize that classic Pokémon "sound", and the high-energy vibe that results from that fit perfectly on a moving stage set around a Pokémon gym.

Song: Poké Floats
Source: Pokémon Red & Blue Versions (GB, 1996) / Super Smash Bros. Melee (GCN, 2001)
Reason: It's a fan-favorite track that's guaranteed to appear in one of the games in some form. Incorporating three iconic and classic themes from the original titles, it's a highly important track in terms of what it represents for the franchise, its history, and its fans. I think the track fits much better here than it would in the Kalos League stage. The gameplay we've seen of this stage suggests that it will ascend in a similar pace to that of the original Poké Floats stage, so I think it's right at home here.

Song: Saffron / Viridian / Pewter City
Source: Pokémon Red & Blue Versions (GB, 1996)
Reason: Saffron City itself has been a stage in the Smash Bros. series, but its theme music has never appeared. It's time to fix that. This incredibly nostalgic track is a trip down memory lane in musical form, conveying the sense of travel, yet also the everyday life of a city. As the original "giant city" in the series, it's only fitting that its legacy live on in a stage set in Lumiose City. It's a little lacking in that battle-worthiness, but I think it's fitting for this stage, and it could always be remixed, anyway. I think anything incorporating string instruments (like this) would produce something very flavorful and appropriate for the stage's Paris-like setting.

Song: Team Plasma Battle
Source: Pokémon Black & White Versions (DS, 2010)
Reason: This track instantly became a fan-favorite when it was first revealed. Much as the Team Galactic theme was remixed for Brawl, I'd like to see the same treatment be given to the Plasma theme. It's also a good pick to add another more intense, even sinister track to the playlist.

Song: Ending Theme Medley
Source: Pokémon Black/White (DS, 2010) / Pokémon Gold/Silver (GBC, 2000) / Pokémon X/Y (3DS, 2013)
Reason: Lumiose City is symbolic of the journey of the trainer in X/Y, and thus, they return to the location several times before ending their adventure there (in a very heartwarming and ceremonial event). Why not include a medley of some of the franchise's best ending themes? I believe this medley could work as follows (assuming hypothetically when regarding stage transitions):
  • It starts off with the outrageously popular and highly intense Black/White ending theme, which carries the start of the fight, eventually fading out at around 42 seconds in.
  • It then transitions into the nostalgic Gold/Silver ending theme, which, through its lofty whimsy and excitable rhythms, gives the battle a more lighthearted atmosphere as the stage takes to the skies and gives the players a view of the city. An inspiring sight matched by inspiring music.
  • Not overstaying its welcome, the Gold/Silver theme transitions only 30 seconds in, passing the torch to the X/Y ending theme, triumphantly starting at the 3:40 mark in the video, and playing throughout the sunset phase of the battle, the guitar bit picking up as the battle reaches the top of the tower and it turns to night. Ends at 4:46 in the video.
  • A brief, peppy intermission plays another snippet from the Gold/Silver theme (1:30-1:50), before looping back into the beginning with the Black/White theme, possibly to a rising sun and a retour of the stage.
[/collapse]

Hmm... I might have to sit this one out.
I have a hard time envisioning what songs should be used here for a sufficient list.

That feel when you're not judging!

Maybe I'll make a list for funsies. I think I know a thing of two about Pokemon.

Who knows?

If I do, judges, don't count me. Grade me. :awesome: But don't count me as a participant. :p

You actually can. you just have to hold Alt+(type in a code using the number pad). For instance, on windows comps:
á = Alt + 0225
é = Alt + 0233
í = Alt + 0237
ó = Alt + 0243
ú = Alt + 0250
ñ = Alt + 0241
ü = Alt + 0252
¡ = Alt + 0161
¿ = Alt + 0191

http://www.spanishdict.com/answers/100808/how-to-type-spanish-letters-and-accents-#.U2RRYXKVu00
Oh, I did forget about that thing! Yeah, you can insert a few special characters by using Alt+<code> commands, but it's far less convenient than other methods...

I still can insert those characters that way (hell, you can even insert regular characters through that method), but my keyboard has special accent keys which allow you to easily insert those on the letters that is much handier than any other methods.

You can actually change your keyboard configuration, so you could actually access a another language keyboard. Just make sure you know the keys' mapping (you can find those on the Internet or through an application that shows the keyboard on the screen), because the symbols printed on the keys obviously won't change.

That feel when you're not judging!

Am I still atoning for my sins of not grading on time?

Would a game like Pokemon Conquest count? Considering it's a crossover game.
Oh.... That's a toughie....

Still, I'm going to say yes because Nintendo and the Pokemon Company were the sole publishers. Tecmo were only the developers (and obvious IP holders).

Alright! Special Picks are red!

Name: Lumiose City
Origin: Pokemon XY (3DS, 2013)
Universe: Pokemon
Full of an adventurous feel and extremely cheerful, and the actual place's Main Theme, also! I wouldn't use the game version, though...I would love an arrangement where the song keeps the same tempo and composition, but the instrumentation actually changes with the sunset, being closer to the original version at the morning, then shifting to a smooth sax at sundown, and then using an accordion and strings melody for the night segment, kinda like Spagonia (Night) from Sonic Unleashed. I'd like this song to help paint a similar picture to the movie Ratatouille as the platform ascends and looks over the city, constantly shifting the sound to fit the mood, but without really changing the song's core material.

Name: Route 8
Origin: Pokemon XY (3DS, 2013)
Universe: Pokemon
This one's a little more adventurous than Lumiose City, although it still manages to keep a pretty uplifting mood, on the game, this theme's usually used when you're climbing up rock passages or traveling along rocky coastlines, but I still think that this could easily fit a pretty epic battle, because there's an heroic feeling behind the cheerful melody. If XY did one thing right, that had to be the Route themes, they're breathtaking and they each have their own personality.

Name: Boutique
Origin: Pokemon XY (3DS, 2013)
Universe: Pokemon
Another memorable song from XY...and this one represents one of the biggest changes that the Pokemon series has ever had, the ability to change your clothes to whatever outfit you like! (Although they didn't allow you to take off the stupid hats...) I also love how, for a boutique theme, they didn't go with some calming shopping music, but instead decided to give the clothing stores a little more flair and style with this upbeat theme.

Name: Game Corner
Origin: Pokemon Diamond & Pearl (DS, 2007)
Universe: Pokemon
Gen IV was the best Gen for me...probably because of the amazing music that came along with it! I think this was the last Game Corner they had before the whole ******** 'Kids can't gamble' thing. This Game Corner forgoes the casino-like approach of the other GC themes and goes with something that sounds more like a neon-laced arcade, which I personally fell in love with! I've loved this theme since the moment I heard it and I would love it to make it into the game. Just picture a battle with those cool guitar riffs playing on the background!

Name: Pokemon Stadium (Melee)
Origin: Super Smash Bros. Melee (GCN, 2001)
Universe: Pokemon
Gotta make a confession, never really liked Poke Floats...I think this song's a much better representation of Pokemon as a whole and the epicness fits the 'rising' nature of the stage pretty well, what else can I say? It's the goddamn Pokemon Main Theme with some amazing, epic orchestration that makes it even more memorable! I love that anime-esque Intro riff!

Name: Villainous Teams Medley
- Team Rocket's Theme
- Team Magma & Aqua Boss
- Team Flare Boss
Origin: Pokemon Series
Universe: Pokemon
A darker theme to represent the evil teams, as I think Team Plasma's theme suits the Kalos Pokemon League better, being a little more...INTENSE, and Team Galactic's theme was on Brawl! The Team Rocket Battle starts things off with the quick pace and feeling of urgency that the sharp tones give, then at 0:53, the Aqua & Magma Boss Theme bursts forward with its strong, menacing bass lead and lasts until 1:09 and then the Team Flare Boss starts quickly with the lead guitar and kicks it off for a minute until it loops back to the Team Rocket theme.

Name: Sky Tower
Origin: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon - Red/Blue Rescue Team (DS/GBA, 2006)
Universe: Pokemon
Screw the Pokemon Gym Theme! The PMD games are among my top 10 favorite games of all time and I'd be ****ting on my gaming origins by not representing them on this list! Even though this song might seem a little too dark and epic for Prism Tower, the aesthetics and the 'rising' concept of the stage do make the song feel right at home, especially when you're overlooking the city and the clouds. The arrangement could go anywhere really, as long as they keep the song foreboding and epic, amybe some of dem' violins from the live Mario Kart 8 sessions.

Name: Gotta Catch 'Em All!
Origin: Pokemon Anime (TV? 1996)
Universe: Pokemon
*Dances like a little kid waiting for Cartoon Network to show Pokemon* CHEESY as it might be, this theme's to Pokemon what the original 1-1 theme is to Mario. Sakurai has shown us that he's not above representing the games through the various animes and series that have existed, with the Banana Slamma, Dedede's Expressions and of course the Pokemon's name voices. For some reason, this theme hasn't appeared yet on the Smash Brothers series...and it feels as long-overdue as a Bowser's Castle stage. I'd like to place it on Lumiose City because, what best way to celebrate a reinvention of the Pokemon formula than remembering Pokemon's very first steps as a franchise? I would've picked Johto Journeys too but that's overdoing it.

Special Mention:
Great Canyon
A great Pokemon song that will most likely never make it into Smash because there's really no chance of the desert or canyon archetype being used for a Pokemon stage, although if we get a Dillon's Rolling Western stage, then that's a whole different story.

Alright! A new round! but seeing as how I've even sat out rounds for stages I could have done really well on, my extremely limited knowledge of Pokemon will keep me from doing much more than lurking. Break a leg, everyone else.

OBJECTION!!

Saffron City's theme has indeed appeared in the series. TAKE THAT!!

It's the second half of this delightful tune. But indeed, the song is worthy to stand on its own.

I'll work on a tracklist when I have a chance... Working on the weekend's a downer. :(

You've got me. I'll admit when I was wrong. To be fair, though, you're correct in that I do wish they'd use it as a standalone piece.

All right all right, finally gonna do this...

(*) - My "'special' picks."

*Track Name: Lumiose City - Goldenrod City
Source: Pokémon X & Y - Pokémon Gold & Silver (Pokémon)
An obvious choice. No doubt everyone will include this in some form.
And no doubt infamous to some for being the last song they heard before having their save data get corrupted. :troll:
I wanted to add a little twist though. At around 0:47 (IE the ending of a loop) the Lumiose City track will fade into another big city theme from the Pokemon series: Goldenrod City. Specifically the part starting at 0:17 and ending at 0:35. At the end of this section it loops back to the beginning of Lumiose City. It's a relatively small change from the main tune, but it's those small little inclusions that make me love so many Smash Bros tracks, so I wanted to do the same. But, darn, usin' up my one "melody" to take a little detour...
I think it goes without saying that the tracks would be remixed so that they actually flow into one another. In practice it wouldn't actually shift to an 8-bit song.

Track Name: Battle! Gym Leader
Source: Pokémon X & Y (Pokémon)
I knew that I wanted to include a Gym Leader theme. The stage does focus on the gym in the center of the city, after all! But I found it difficult to choose. The X&Y theme, the one I ultimately chose, was of course the most obvious, but all of them are very popular and memorable to many Pokefans. After thinking about though, I found this one to fit more with flying around a city. The relatively slow-paced yet at the same time action-packed tune lends itself well to that more-so than the others in my opinion.

Track Name: Super Training!
Source: Pokémon X & Y (Pokémon)
"Super" indeed! With how much time was spent in Super Training by so many trainers, this song no doubt stood out.
Now that I think about it...Super Training involves flying around on a platform...so does this stage. Welp, can't get much more fitting. :awesome:

Track Name: Route 10
Source: Pokémon Black & White (Pokémon)
Interesting how the music that plays on the road to Victory Road is more memorable to many than the music that plays on Victory Road itself. The track stands out among the others in the game(s) due to its unique instrument choices. This uniqueness as far as Pokemon tracks go paid off as it ended up being one of the more popular tunes from Black & White. The route was blocked off in Black 2 & White 2, but GameFreak apparently knew how well received this track was since there's an NPC you can talk to in those games to trigger this song.

Track Name: End Credits
Source: Pokémon Black & White (Pokémon)
One of the comments summed up this song in a very nice way:
"it sums up the feel of the game quite well, upbeat and happy, but also slightly dark, mysterious, creepy and epic!"
Indeed, it does ensue, to use a meme word, "feels" to many players. The credits made quite the impact for being a epic song taking place after the whole big ending scene of Black & White. Though a powerful song, it's not too powerful as to be completely unfitting on the stage which I like. The fast-paced strings is something I really like for a flying stage as well.

Track Name: Wanderer Miror B. Battle
Source: Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness (Pokémon)
For many, Miror B. was the most memorable character from Colosseum and XD. No doubt due in part to his battle themes from both XD and Colosseum. (As well as his hairdo.) While both of his battle themes are liked by fans, his theme from XD seems to to the more popular of the two. On top of just including a popular song, I also wanted to include it to serve as representation of this pair of popular spin-offs. Representation that, sadly, was not present in Brawl.

Track Name: Dialga's Fight to the Finish!
Source: Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Time & Darkness (Pokémon Mystery Dungeon)
Some of the music in this spin-off series is just too good to ignore. (Which unfortunately happened in Brawl...) Though not many individual tracks are particularly well known, Primal Dialga's battle theme stands out. It's probably the most famous song from this pair of games if not the whole series. For those who haven't played this series, the games can effectively be split into two story-based halves. Primal Dialga serves as the last boss of the first half. I was debating whether or not to include this since I originally thought it to be a little unfitting. However after I listened to it again I realized that instrument choices make the song lend itself more to this stage than I thought. With flutes and strings being predominate, I thought it would be fitting for flying on a platform high in the sky.

*Track Name: Pokémon Stadium (Melee)
Source: Super Smash Bros. Melee (Super Smash Bros./Pokémon)
It's difficult to leave out the main theme of the series. It was either this or the Poke Floats theme, buuut...I'd like to pretend I'm in a world where that stage was brought back.

My first run through with this game. I don't expect to do very well, but this was fun regardless!

Alright...

1. Team Flare Battle Theme *

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hk86h8Z_H1M
Origin: Pokemon X and Y
Reason: Team Galactic's theme got into Brawl, and this theme is very likely to get in as well. It's fast-paced and exciting, good for a game like Smash.

2. Trainer Battle Theme (X and Y) *
Origin: Pokemon X and Y
Reason: If two wild pokemon themes could get into Brawl, this can get in as well. It was also in Greninja's trailer, so, like the Jogging theme, I fully expect it to make the cut.

3. Kanto Legendary Battle Theme

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rn7GznqnKyg
Origin: Pokemon X and Y
Reason: Not only is the core theme extremely memorable and iconic, but the song in general is very fast and techno-ish; fitting, in my opinion, for the city with a giant tech tower in it's center.
Alternatively, Mewtwo's theme.

4. Pokemon World Tournament Finals!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBy5i5x-6IA
Origin: Pokemon Black 2 and White 2
Reason: With so many hardcore battle themes, I chose this one to even it out. It's more upbeat, yet still retains the sense of wonder and the thrill of battle that all final battle themes in Pokemon have. Plus, tell me it doesn't fit on the stage. You know it does.

5. Hoenn Champion Theme (BW2)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBCsERUHzj8
Origin: Pokemon Black 2 and White 2
Reason: More Emerald remake hints!
In all seriousness, though, this theme is actually quite reoccuring, and considering how little content Gen 3 got, a remake of a Gen 3 song isn't too :083:. (No pun intended.)

6. Suicuine Theme (Or Johto Legendary Theme)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=httFyR2jaW0
Origin: Pokemon Heartgold and Soulsilver
Reason: Another iconic theme used many times. It fits the stage, and is a frontrunner for HG/SS themes if it doesn't get it's own stage.

7. Pokeathlon Theme

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nb0xt6X72MQ
Origin: Pokemon Heartgold and Soulsilver
Reason: The Pokeathlon was a new feature introduced in HG/SS, which was basically the Olympic Games for Pokemon in mini-game style. Along with the PWT Finals, it's upbeat and energetic, while not being too hardcore. And again, it really fits on the stage.

* = Main two choices.

Really? It's Pokemon! You got pl-ENTY of options.
Well, when does the contest entry period end? I think it's pretty soon, and I haven't gotten started. (Plus, I haven't played X and Y yet... *GASP*)

My last 'Mon games was Sapphire.

If you're not a big Pokemon fan, then fair enough.

I think Swamp may keep submission time on longer, as there hasn't been many of us who have entered atm. I'm typing mine up as we speak.

I'm a fan, I just haven't really gotten around to getting one in a while.

Although, I may just try at least... if the entry period is longer.

PRISM TOWER
No. 1 and 2 are my special picks!

1. Lumiose City - Pokemon XY *

As the stage is set in Lumiose City, it makes the most sense for this song to be the default music. It can also be seen as the signature song for Pokemon XY, as it was used from the get-go ever since Pokemon XY was officially announced at beginning of 2013. The song itself is nice on the ears; holding the sense ofadventure and optimism that Pokemon is known for.

2. Poke Floats - Pokemon/SSB *

Figured we'd need at least ONE returning track for a Pokemon stage. Look at past tracks, this feels one of the more fitting tracks for Prism Tower (if only both Prism Tower and Melee stage Pokefloats both revolve around floating/moving platforms). A tribute to early Pokemon games, the familiar tones can put a smile on those who remember. The song also has a serious, determined tone, which will add variety to this tracklist.

-------------------------------------

3. Rival Battle - Pokemon XY

Whoever thought rivals would have such a light-hearted theme tune? This may not be the most popular, but I believe it to be one of the favourites of X/Y. A spiritful theme that gives the most competitive fights a fun spin on them. X/Y's story also focused on the theme of bonds and friendship (bleh), so this theme probably feels more at home representing X/Y.

4. Super Training / Secret Super Training! - Pokemon XY

I used a similar concept of this for Byrne's theme in my Spirit Tracks playlist. Basically, the default music that plays here would be the first track. However, when it comes down to sudden death, or the last two standing, the secondary song will transition into play.

I like both songs for different reasons. Super Training is fun and energetic, making you want to get up and exercise. Secret Super Training has a more climatic atmosphere, which works in a sudden death situation, hence why I use this idea. Together, they make a nice gimmick that I wish Sakurai would consider implementing for at least one time in his SSB franchise.

(i.e. this is NOT designed as a medley. They are meant to be played in different situations.)

5. Route 10 - Pokemon Black/White

Spear Pillar in SSBB had Route 209. The remix itself was very nice, but it just did not fit the stage at all.

Route 10, however, can sit comfortably. Route 10 stands out as one of the better tracks from Gen 5 for good reason. Played in the Route before Victory Road, it reminds you of how far you have travelled in your journey, and now you're towards the home stretch.

One of the instruments used reminds me of an accordion, which relates to the French setting of Kalos (X/Y), which is one reason why the song sit well on this stage. The other reason? It's just a strong melody that deserves a spot in My Music.

6. Champion Iris! - Pokemon Black/White 2

The most surprising Champion in both theme and character, this song stands out from Champion themes. It starts off as lighthearted and friendly (blasted lack of vocabulary) but quickly reminds you that you are still fighting for the Champion title with its sudden change of mood. Also, this Champion battle has you fighting a pre-teen princess girl on rainbow road with dragons. You can't not forget a fight like this.

7. Sky Tower - PMD: Blue/Red Rescue Team

If there's a soundtrack that needs more recognition, it's from the PMD series. They're by no means better than the mainstream Pokemon games, but by god, is their music outstanding. Sky Tower is probably the most loved track from the first PMD game(s), and with good reason. It's instruments are enchancting and soothing, contrasting with the concept that it plays on the last dungeon of the game before the final boss. In hindsight, it's a way of keeping a player calm and positive in preperation of the big fight.

Anyway, as great as the song is, the title "Sky Tower" merges well with the stage's concept of ascending and revolving around a huge tower in the air/sky. Just another way of saying "it fit wells here."

8. Battle! Gym Leader Medley:
- Pokemon Gym (0:00-0:05)
{ Kanto Gym Leader (0:00-0:44)
{ Johto Gym Leader (5:13-6:16)
{ Hoenn Gym Leader (9:18-10:11)
{ Kalos Gym Leader (16:16-16:56)
{ Gym Leader Defeated! (0:04-0:17)
{ restarts to Kanto Gym Leader.

The Kalos Gym Leader itself may have had a viable enough entry on its own, but I thought it felt underwhelming. But it would be hard to choose another Gym Leader track to replace, so I figured, why not make medley of the best together?

Because the Prism Tower is actually a Pokemon Gym in disguise, we needed some form of Gym Leader music applied. So here's the best of the bunch, blended carefully together. The first and last tracks in the medley are mainly segways, but are also nostalgic in their own way. Not much I can say, other than, "Medley was super effective! You whited out!"

At last, I've finished. Wrapping up this list literally gave me a headache, but it's finally done.

Quick Note: I chose a majority of my songs on this list based on popularity alone. I know some of these songs would work better on a hypothetical Pokemon Stadium 3, but when you have Route 208 playing on Spear Pillar…

[collapse=Superyoshiom's Playlist]

Main Theme (Pokemon Series) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaaD9CnWgig
It’s practically a no brainer, moving on.

Lumiose City (Pokemon X and Y) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYSbR3a4Wyw
Another obvious choice, it’s Lumiose City after all!

Team Flare Lysandre Theme (Pokemon X and Y) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIsIdfNTC0M
Many important events happened in Lumiose City, including your first battle with the boss of Team Flare. Now, he wasn’t one of my favorite bosses in the Pokemon games (well, I thought the way he died was cool), but he has a solid theme.

Route 19 (Pokemon X and Y) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1vy4Jn8oVc
I love this theme so much! When I first heard it when i was heading towards the last gym, I nearly cried. It’s just so beautiful. When I hear this song, I can just feel all my progress that I’ve earned. In my opinion, this is the best route theme of any Pokemon game and that’s why it deserves a spot on my list.

Pokemon Trainer Battle (Pokemon X and Y) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoQfW8NvT_k
We already hear this theme on the direct, and I suppose it would work well on this stage.

Zekrom/Reshiram Battle (Pokemon Black and White) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-xhvNqWHXg
Here’s where I kinda divert from the more predictable choices on my list. Black and White should definitely get a few tracks. I wasn’t a big fan of the tracks in the original Black and White, but this theme definitely stands the test of time, at least for me.

World Tournament Finals (Pokemon Black and White 2)- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVqexr3JQHo
Now while I was partial to the songs in Black and White, I loved the compositions of its sequel. Instantly after hearing this for the first time, I thought to myself, “This sounds like a Smash Bros. styled theme.” So I put it on my list.

Gym Leader Theme (Pokemon HG/SS) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TuNObMHP_J0
Prism Tower is technically a gym, so I was ready to put in a gym leader theme for this list. I thought to put the gym leader theme from X and Y, but frankly, I didn’t care for the them and found it overly repetitive. So I decided to go of a theme that was memorable, classic, and from a game after Brawl. I then remembered Heartgold and Soulsilver, and put in that game’s remix of the Kanto gym leader theme. It’s exciting, fast paced, and engaging.

PRAISE HELIX! Er, I mean... I have finished my tracklist and submit it for review.

[collapse= Jump Plays Round Thirteen!]
FOR GLORY picks...

1. Name: Lumiose City
Series: Pokemon
Game of Origin: Pokemon X/Y (2013, 3DS)
Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1175u53t20

Notes: Well, even though it's technically called Prisim Tower, the stage takes place outside of the building in Lumiose City. So it's fitting that the theme for Lumiose City should play here.

2. Name: Pokemon Stadium
Series: Pokeyman?
Game of Origin: Pokemon Red/Blue (1998, GB) / Super Smash Bros. Melee (2001, GCN)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awayMiW9zpk

Notes: It was hard to choose only one Gen I song out of the series to place here (and Smash has many), but sometimes you have to go with the classics. In this case, we don't know if the Stadium stages are returning (and we might not even get a Stadium 3 this time), plus it was in the Smash Direct, so it's gotta be in, right? Regardless, this theme is a classic and I think it should be on this stage.

FOR FUN picks...

3. Name: Goldenrod Game Corner
Series: Pokemon (Johto Journey)
Game of Origin: Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver (2010, DS
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SPKgaCkwtE

Notes: In memory of the great Game Corners of the past (which Lumiose would have one had they not been killed), I dedicate this Gen II slot to the last great Game Corner of Goldenrod. (I wanted to save Melee's Battle Theme for Kalos League.)

4. Name: Wild Pokemon Battle (Ruby/Sapphire)
Series: Pokemon (Advanced!)
Game of Origin: Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire (2003, GBA)/ Super Smash Bros. Brawl (2008, Wii)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccUgoc-0KEA

Notes: For this Gen III track, I was considering whether I should use this theme or not. But I think this theme is more fitting for the layout of the stage mechanics. So I decided what the hey and put it in.

5. Name: Route 209
Series: Pokemon (Battle Dimensions)
Game of Origin: Pokemon Diamond/Pearl (2007, DS) / Super Smash Bros. Brawl (2008, Wii)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AZJ-cPcKtk

Notes: Well, I needed a Gen IV song, plus I can always use another Brawl track. And all the other songs were too intense/ not the right mood. This song fits Lumiose City perfectly. It even includes both its Day and Night variants.

6. Name: Castelia City
Series: Pokemon (Best Wishes!)
Game of Origin: Pokemon Black/White (2011, DS)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_pwLX0_aVU

Notes: I know, it's pretty much follow the leader on this one. But can you blame me? Back in Gen V, this city was freakin huge! It was a taste of what was to come. In my opinion, this is the most iconic theme of Black/White and I think it warrants some representation.

7. Name: Friendly Rivals! (A medley)
Series: Pocket Monsters
Link (I made it for the contest): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_mzqvJCZOI
This is a medley of the following tracks...

Name: Battle! (Friend)
Game of Origin: Pokemon X/Y (2013, 3DS)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZavQcSFsm0

Name: Battle! (Cheren/Bianca)
Game of Origin: Pokemon Black/White (2011, DS)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWvmaSHM0bo

Notes: See, guys? GRC isn't the only one who can make a medley solely for this contest! Anyway, these two themes really have a great deal of similarities in both how they sound as well as their concepts. I often find myself starting one of them and transitioning into the other without realizing it! In any case, I created my artistic vision of how the medley may sound. It's not perfect, as BW's Rival theme sounds underwhelming when matched up like this, but I'm sure that a remix would be extremely well done and catchy.

8. Name: Super Training
Series: P O K "Accent E" M O N!!
Game of Origin: Pokemon x/Y (2013, 3DS)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r55Bio6AoUg

Notes: No items, Greninja only, Prism Destination! Actually, this really is the kind of theme I would expect to hear on Prism Tower's FD form. It gives off a clear Smash vibe, as if the composers were channeling the spirit of Smash Bros. while writing it. If this isn't in Smash 4 SOMEHOW, I'd declare a wasted opportunity.

Joke Pick
Name: Poke Rap
Series: What else?
Game? of Origin: Pokemon anime (dub version) (1998)
Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0LoHA_FPAs

Notes: Dat opening theme ain't got nothin on this right here! :troll:

Aaaaah, it does my heart good to see more people include Mystery Dungeon music.
Funny, I was heavily debating between Sky Tower and the Primal Dialga battle theme. Ultimately I picked the latter even though for most of the time I was making my list I had the former. Nice to see someone else pick the one I didn't go with, as I think they're both excellent and worthy tracks.

Maybe my eyes are bad as I've just done a quick skim of the lists, but how come no one's used the Xerneas/Yveltal or Kanto Legendary Remix songs from X & Y?

I haven't made it that far in the games yet. Also, they could be saving them for the Kalos League stage.
