Apparently Smash needs to be talked about in other places too.

It's more about reaching those people that perhaps don't hop onto smashboards that often and would otherwise miss out on events they would otherwise attend.

LanSmash does the same thing. So do organisations and business' around the world.
It's just a good way to keep people in the loop, another avenue through which I can inform people about events and remind them.
