Every Direct since Smash 4's announcement at E3 2013 has had Smash news, all except November 2013 which he didn't re-tweet. Still, it's a bit hard to say since that's just one occurence.

Well, I'm awake now. Even if this Direct doesn't have Smash news, I'm still looking forward to some awesome 3ds games. The 3ds is my favorite system, I'm hopeful. <3

It's just past 5:30 AM and I'm staying up just for a direct that might not have Smash news and that I won't understand. I could of just slept and saw if there was news when I woke up, but there's something special when you see stuff live. Even though there's no guarantee there will be news...

So, according to the leak, the All-Star mode will have the characters fought in the order of their debut year. This is similar to Brawl where characters were grouped by their series' start.

Ought to be interesting, but might get repetitive for many runs...

Anyway, this should be the order:

If Wolf returns, this could mean a total of 26 stages. Brawl had 19, while Melee had 13.

Assuming this speculation is correct, this means characters may be from different series. I wonder how stage selection works, but I'd assume for the 1980 stage, the battle could be in Pac-Maze or a G&W stage, while the 2012 stage would be on Arena Ferox, Reset Bomb Forest or any other possible FE or KI stages.

Maybe the character order could influence it? The first opponent (P2) would choose the stage like in Melee's All-Star mode. That way, the 1980 stage would have equal probability of being on a G&W stage or a Pac-Man stage, while the 2012 stage would have 2/3 chance of being on a Fire Emblem stage, 1/3 on a Kid Icarus stage.
