Males play video games more than females. It's not that surprising.
Barely. Video game consoles,, dedicated handhelds, and gaming PC's yes. Mobile phone games, no. And overall, only 52 percent:

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=879743

Males spend far more money though.

Take a look at the age demographic as well (mostly 18+, and mostly males). Nintendo is loosing the younger audience (although there may be some reasons why it's showing so low, like parents operating things for kids, but still). I wonder if Amiibo figures will help attract more kids.
Nintendo has been losing the younger audience on home consoles since SNES, with the exception of Wii.

GBA had a very short lifespan on its own (just over 3 years until it was replaced) so that's a blip on the right hand side. Also, Wii U is a 6.68 and 3DS 44.14 now.

It's pretty scary, as a huge Nintendo fan as I'm sure you are as well.

If Nintendo's focusing on the core gamers from now klong, does that mean the death of the Wii series games and the Miis themselves?

Stuff like Wii Sports and Wii Fit? Maybe. If they don't sell as much as they used to, Nintendo can just put their efforts into other projects. But the Miis themselves could still act like the X-Box avatars. So they are bound to still be there.

Why is there so much hate for the Mii concept anyway?

I mean it''s not completely ********.
They look gross and have bad voices. For some, they are the physical representation of the "casual" games. They might be the first things that come to mind when you hear Wii Sports or Wii Party.

Because too many original beloved characters got killed off in the first one in 1986
Optimus Prime still came back like a badass though. Don't deny that. He's too good.

EDIT: Double Post, my bad.

While everyone is ******** about the roster for Super Smash Bros., I'm still waiting for Baiken and Testament to return to Guilty Gear. The fact they weren't in Guilty Gear Xrd to begin with is odd, since they were part of the original cast. I mean, with Justice and Cliff at least there are justifications since both are dead and what not. But what's the excuse with Baiken and Testament?

They need a more realistic design like the Xbox avatars in order to be really charming to customers. The fact that there's so many limited options with the body and face really makes them hard to be truly pleasing to the eyes of them.

Darn...
I mean that's great, Mii's are such an original and essential asset of Nintendo IP's. Not generic or silly looking at all. They're aesthetically pleasing the eye.

True, But i mean some good things are ********.

Kinda like how puppies are, They are adorable, cute, and can make you happy even if you murder someone.. But they also piss on everything, chew on everything, and they stay pretty much dumb their whole lifes. Thus is the ******** part of puppies.

Especially since Miyamoto had an idea for an avatar creator a looong time ago. It was only a matter of time until Miis were born...

On Miis, for me they don't have to have a customizable moveset as I feel like they could offer enough without such option. Miis (or the concept of creating an avatar) has a long history with Nintendo -- in a way you could almost call them historical.

Now, I'm indifferent about Miis. If they get in, however, I do hope they're unique and fun as much as possible. I don't want to argue on their pros/cons because that's not the point I'm trying to make.

Going back to what I said before: on the history thing I recommend watching this video if you haven't before:

I may not care that much about Miis, but seeing an idea Miyamoto had struggle to find its place around 20 years ago and evolve into the successful Mii concept that we have today is kinda inspiring. And Miis are still going strong and probably will in the future.
^ watch the vid, it's pretty cool. RIP Stage Debut, we hardly knew ye.

I didn't say you had to like it. Just that it's going to stay.

Great, no more game breaking wobbling and chain grabs!
You fool! Don't you get it? Now that their power lies in his boots, he'll get the wobbling. Who knows what'll happen if he gets the chain grabs.

The same reason as for the likes of Baiken and Testament. A limbo with no clear answer.

Though I guess it depends on what characters the developers feel like bringing back. It's not a smooth transition considering that the games use a different graphics engine, meaning they can't simply recycle sprites from past games.

I'd at least expect Dizzy, because if I recall Ky is trying to find her in his story. So at least it would make sense plot-wise.

I'm okay, but only for stupid characters like anime characters or Shrek :troll:. For some reason, I get really mad when people try to make realistic Mii's with moles and wrinkles and.... Ugh... It's honestly disgusting. Miis should be as simple as possible.

But that's just my opinion.

I just realized that games gotten from the free Mario Kart game Club Nintendo-deal counted towards the Digital Deluxe Promotion. Sweet, extra $5 and such
