I don't know why it would seem to follow the sound design of Paper Mario because it's clearly not.
Maybe you're thinking of this?
Because it's the closest I could find.
I think Kirby is more orchestral while Paper Mario uses more sounds effects and diverse instruments.
Btw, the music should be better than this video because youtube compression...I hate music compression (except lossless because it doesn't seem to change anything).

Don't button mash it. It will go smoother and faster if you get the rhythm to it down. Calmly press the Special button repetitively, but don't mash it. That's the most common reason people mess up DED and DB anyways.

Yeah, I know. It's weird though, I used to be able to do the combo all the time, but now I'll end up goofing up the second hit. Or worse, I default to the 4th hit down when the other directions are better options. I'm probably just panicking and pressing the button faster than I should though.

I love how Smash Mario can just will flames into existence, while canon Mario has to find a plant in order to shoot fire.
