So are we ever gonna get normal evolutions for previous gen pokemon, or more baby pokemon? Jeez, instead of giving Pokemon normal evolutions, they're just giving everybody a mega form.

Well, Mega Pinsir uses Return because of the reasons I just said: It's safer and has no drawbacks.
The only thing that separates Pinsir and Salamence is that the former can boost its Attack up to +2, while Salamence boosts its Attack and Speed by +1. Pinsir also needs Quick Attack to K.O. anything that is faster than it.
Salamence has Intimidate before Mega Evolving, which results in a similar case to Mawile in that it uses Intimidate to set up easily. It's just going to make the thing a "threat" by Smogon / Pokémon Online standards.
Also, if we're talking about Mixed sets, Hyper Voice hits through Substitutes, meaning that stuff that uses Substitute to "protect" is still going to get hit.

That actually makes some sense, considering that he's in both game, and the mega stones would be an incentive to trade or get both versions.It will be Mega Rayquaza Alpha and Omega. Just you watch.

Jeez Pokemon is getting convoluted.... first evolutions, then alternate formes, then MegaEvolutions, then primal reversions, what's next? Regular Evolutions for Mega Evolutions?

Cool, that means some Mega Evolutions will have the ability to use regular Items like Leftovers, Life Orb, Eviolite, etc.
