First 20 minutes:
Aonuma: Hello everyone, today I am here with Tecmo to talk about Hyrule warriors.
Tecmo: Aonuma-san, remember when we introduced two new characters at E3?
Aonuma: Oh yes, the series staple, Zelda, and the fan favorite, Midna.
Tecmo: Let's show how they play.

[Cue trailers we've already seen]

Next 5 minutes:

Aonuma: What was your inspiration for this game, how did it arise?
Tecmo: i think we went over this during a previous event.
Aonuma: Who cares, we need to kill time.
Tecmo: Well then [enormous exposition goes here]

Last minute:

Aonuma: Hyrule Warriors will be coming out very soon, but for you Zelda fans in the audience, I may as well throw a bone. The new Zelda game for Wii U has been pushed to 2016. Sayonara!
But first a brief look at the history of the Zelda series

I've been wondering whether I should get something like this for Smash 4/P:M, since they basically seem to be a requirement in every other fighting game.

Smash isn't like other fighters.

Other fighting games are more rigid and require more precision and control, which is why an arcade sticks work for them so good. Smash on the other hand is more free-flowing in movement and needs a control stick like the one on the GCC to be more precise and have that freedom. An arcade stick is not for Smash, it's just too rigid and is meant for the more traditional fighter.

'nother question everyone, do you all play with 3D on?

I myself am one of those rare few that can't really see the 3D
I Never use it.

@ Tangamanga Tangamanga I see you have a wacom tablet and wanted to ask how you think of it? I just ordered one and am excited to use it. Also which of the free software you can download with it is the better to use? (Assuming you're using one of the three)

I'm still watching the Direct tonight but I won't post impressions on it until tomorrow morning around 5-6 AM. Can't wait!

I'd probably better skedaddle. I was planning to watch it tomorrow on the eShop with my brother and I don't want to spoil myself before then.

I still wonder why SmashWiki thinks that Pikachu's QAC is not in Smash 4. There's already a video proving that the technique is in the game.

@ xelasseh xelasseh These intuos tablets have a rather rough surface that makes the pen nibs wear down faster It also made a scratchy sound that annoyed me, I was just too used to my old bamboo fun , so I placed a protective film over it contact paper lol and it's perfect now :)

And hmmm, the bundled software depends on the version you purchased, is it the pen and touch or manga version?

To burn the next ten minutes until the direct, everyone Google their first name with "the Hedgehog" added at the end, and post their results.

This is the weirdest Direct ever. 26 minutes dedicated to Hyrule Warriors? How much is even left to show us?

Should've been another Smash Direct.

I'm still gonna watch it, and probably enjoy it. Looks like a good game... but still... weird.

We should have gotten a Hyrule Warriors trailer on July 14th instead of some Smash trailer.

Every day I go on a Nintendo News site, there's a new trailer. What gives? Sakurai obviously hates us.

Hmm, Wacom tablets are really good if you want to start with the digital stuff. My Capture came up with Photoshop Elements and some other 2 applications, but my laptop didn't have a CD drive, so I installed the tablet drivers on Wacom's website.

I got the Intuos Pro Pen and Touch, I think it comes with either autodesk sketchbook express, anime studio or a 90 day trial of Corel painter x3. I'm leaning towards autodesk from videos I've watched.

Oh god. There's apparently this weird 4chan thing about "Kevin the Hedgehog". Don't want to read it.
I'm scared.

Well, the problem more so has to do with Super Smash Bros. is that the series was always built for controllers, hence why it's not digital and the simplistic controls fit perfectly. Meanwhile varies fighting games were built around the arcades, examples including Tekken, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, and Guilty Gear. Hence why those games are more efficient with the arcade joysticks. Though fighting games that require only 4 buttons like BlazBlue are viable both ways.
Tekken is actually well known for a number of players using the Playstation controllers. It lends it well to it though. You can use the shoulder buttons for 1+4, 2+3, 3+4, and 1+2.
