See, I was right for once. lol
Yes, let's not forget Fox! ....With his Star Fox Command design. Olimar too.
You know, I sometimes wonder how will Pikachu's matchup be against Rosalina. Since you're maining the latter character, what do you think about this?
I haven't given it much thought really.
Pikachu players definitely have some useful tools that will help them separate Rosalina & Luma if they are focusing on sticking together. Neutral B and Down B in particular will likely be a nuisance for Rosalina & Luma (especially Down B, it can basically form a wall between Rosalina & Luma). I also think that due to Rosalina's massive height, it might be possible to connect Pikachu's Down B even if Rosalina is hiding under the platform below, if the strike hits Pikachu. However, that will be easily punishable, as she seems like she can crouch walk, and her Up Smash or Up Tilt could easily hit Pikachu out of it from below.
However, dealing with Rosalina's supreme edge guarding capabilities (thanks to Luma, and her floatiness and excellent recovery) will be hell for Pikachu. While Quick Attack (Up B) might get past Luma if he's sent off stage, Rosalina can easily follow up on that since Pikachu will be helpless, and she can even bolster her strength by calling Luma back. Rosalina can also opt to keep Luma on stage or at the ledge, and then space herself out a bit to cover a lot of ground using the combined range of both Rosalina and Luma's Down Smashes (this technique was demonstrated by Bill Trinen, I believe. I know JC at least talked about it).
Overall, I think Pikachu will need to play defensively and intelligently against Rosalina, and use a lot of mindgames. Pure offense won't cut it, since Pikachu's attacks tend to have weak range, especially his aerials, while Rosalina is the complete opposite, with some very big and disjointed hitboxes, as well as having some multi-hit areials.. Also, don't let Rosalina directly above or below Pikachu, her Down and Up Aerials combined with her high movement speed in the air, means she's set for pretty much anything Pikachu may throw at her to counter her. Pikachu has the speed to run away and try to jump up and approach from the side before Rosalina's Down and Up Aerial animations finish.
Provided the hit stun in this game is good enough, Pikachu should be able to get some good combos in on Rosalina as soon as he gets a hit in, especially at higher percentages, since he has the agility to keep up with her when she is launched.
As far as K.O moves go, Pikachu will rely on Thunder to K.O Rosalina, maybe try to trick her into running into it. And of course, Pikachu should look to punish Rosalina with Smash attacks, but that could be risky, since Rosalina will easily counter-punish if Pikachu is slow on the uptake and tries to punish too late.
And Rosalina won't have much trouble K.O'ing Pikachu, since he's very light. Rosalina is actually pretty heavy, but she is floaty. Normally, I'd advise focusing on vertical K.Os when dealing with heavy-floaties, but Rosalina's Down Aerial is too good for Pikachu to consistently do that. Focus on getting a real solid K.O move on her. Spiking her to the bottom will likely be most reliable, out of an aerial combo, at least.
