Even if you bench them I think he'll just automatically support with them. The only way to have him marry "maiden" is by making sure all possible spouses are married already, or killing them all.
No, I benched them all in a playthrough and he married Maiden. You just got to make sure he doesn't get any support points with any of them if they're unmarried at the end of chapter 11.
