How bad was Brave exactly? Can't be that bad...right?

It starts out okay, but the second half of the movie is terrible.

At least it's not as bad as Cars 2. That was completely unwatchable. But that's, of course, just my opinion.

How to make an underperforming, non-Cars, Pixar film: The Brave way

1. Release interesting teaser with the concept of "changing your fate"
2. Build up hype with trailers and sneak peaks
3. Make 1st half of the movie kind of interesting with funny characters and conflict between a mother and her daughter
4. Shoe-horn wisps that immediately trash the "changing your fate" concept since the protagonist just follows the wisps for answers
5. Add in an uninteresting antagonist and watch the plot drop off in the 2nd half

This describes Brave's criticisms. To be fair, it went under serious development issues by switching directors during the filmmaking process.

The Good Dinosaur suffered a similar problem but looks promising.

Pixels looks absolutely awful.

But I'm hardly surprised that it's being panned, not because of how the movie looks, but because of Adam Sandler's history. Critics always hated him, and always will.

Hell, they even hate Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore!
