I just hope it gets a Best Buy demo or something so that fans themselves can settle it once and for all whether the game is a worthy Metroid title or not, as well as for my personal concerns of the game of course. So far they've said only Blast Ball is ready to show, which worries me. But I guess, like you said, there's still a year left.

Sony's and MS's E3 is why, they set expectations pretty high for E3 through their single events.

Yes, but playing Lunatic on casual only unlocks Lunatic+ casual.
As a side note: if you have the grind DLC, only until you've beaten chapter 4.

You don't lose units if they reach 0 HP. They're just out for the chapter, but next chapter they're ready for action again.
