Fun tips for you guys that play Roy:

If you sweet spot his jab it will hold his target close to him for a follow up of your choosing:
a second jab + Fsmash/Ftilt/Uptilt/up b

and down throw to up b is a true combo when used on an opponent at 0% through about 50% same thing for up tilt.

Also when the opponent is at higher % and you both are below a platform then down throw will flop them onto the platform giving you the chance to up smash them.

Have fun!

I spent about and hour and a half with Roy in training yesterday and figured all of this out.
It was fun to experiment with him!
My favorite jab follow up is Ftilt. Up tilt sometimes doesn't have enough range, and Fsmash is sometimes too slow.
I find that FTilt works the most consistently.

I've also seen D-throw to Upsmash when the opponent has bad DI.
And D-throw to Uptilt.

I love Roy's side and Up Smashes. They are SO fun too use!
Roy just feels like the right character for me.

Double edged dance is a fun move as well.

Also, using a fully charged Flare blade successfully is one of the best feelings ever.

I like his counter sound. It's cool that they made it different.
I think his dizzy animation is still the same as Marth's though.

Back air is like, the best thing ever.
Back throw is like, the worst thing ever.

Nope, Roy has combos, lots of kill set ups, jab follow ups, up b shenanigans, easier to land sweet spots and less landing lag. Roy's sweet spot hits kill just about as effectively as Marth's tippers.

Fixed to better reflect the state of Roy.
Funny how things work out. Roy was bottom tier in Melee and Marth is one of the best characters, now Roy is shooting for the top tiers in Smash 4 and Marth is sitting around middle-low tier.
