The good news is that I had recently bought Bayonetta 2.

The bad news however, the guys at the local Gamestop said that only 30 people had bought Bayonetta 2 there yesterday. I guess Operation Platinum would have been a failure to begin with.

I didn't ask my GameStop guy on copies sold but I bought Bayonetta 2 myself at launch.

Can't say I'm a guy who buys/plays these types of games (and I play Metal Gear for pete's sake) but I liked what the demo offered so I got it.

Easy. If they had an alpha version of Mewtwo they would have shown him off. They only showed his 3D model and his release date in spring. If they had at least an alpha version Mewtwo would be finished in Late January. Furthermore, they just finished the development of the 3DS Version and the Wii U version. They wouldn't have had that much time to start on Mewtwo.

True. But maybe they had an alpha version, but decided not to show it off.

I'm going to buy it. The one with the first one included as well. I don't know about it, really liked the demo but I thought The Wonderful 101 was meh and the only other Platinum game I've played was Madworld on the Wii. That was also meh. But I know that Bayonetta will be a blast when I get it this Christmas so I'm looking forward to it!

It's possible, but I just feel like sixteen Ice Climbers on a stage with hazards along with whatever items, assist trophies, or final smashes would be happening at the moment could cause framerate issues on the Wii U version. Not to mention Sakurai's explanation

"Sold out" does not necessarily mean "Sold well". the stores could have simply not ordered very many copies. In fact, that's the exact marketing ploy Microsoft tried to pull in order to sell the Xbox One early on.

Serious? Now that I remember, there was only one copy left at the Gamestop I've came from. Maybe you're right and it could have been a great seller. I'll be waiting for the full sales reports this Monday.

I know that. When I first heard of it I thought one possibility might be that Nintendo just did a small initial print run.
Still if people are complaining about not being able to find it in store and going to several stores just to find a copy of Bayonetta it should be doing all right.

Some think the New 3DS could easily handle Ice Climbers.. but here are the problems:
- Let's say, you own a New 3DS or XL. You're going to do an online / local match using ICs with an OG 3DS user.. and what would happen? A message on the OG 3DS stating the characters aren't available or something?
- It would fragment the userbase, and Nintendo probably doesn't want such thing to happen.

Considering SB3DS isn't New 3DS exclusive they would be unable to take advantage of the processing power. The only thing the new 3DS does for Smash is allowing you to use the c-stick and extra shoulder buttons.

The New 3DS has an NFC reader built in, inside the touch screen. Back on the Direct that they officially confirmed Shulk, they said that they will include amiibo compability on Smash 3DS.
The OG 3DS will have an adapter so you can use amiibo there too.

Wouldn't Ice Climbers need to add a stage as well? I mean I liked the one from Brawl but I think it would be hard for them to make a new one. They could just bring the Brawl one back but there's SO MANY returning stages across both versions I'm not sure I'd be really hyped for a returning character and a stage considering Mewtwo is also coming back even though he's pure hype

It doesn't say anything about Smash Bros specifically being compatible and the page about Amiibo is labeled as a Wii U exclusive feature. It could be possible that they might add compatibility in the future through an update but nothing confirms it yet.

Can you give me a link and timestamp? From what I can tell it just shows a Mario amiibo being placed on the New 3DS and it's not even the same design as the Smash Bros. amiibo.

I've heard stories that in Melee, having everyone play as ICs on Fountain of Dreams causes lag, but that was back then. I know in Melee I used to use my AR to spawn a crap ton of items (or tons of Party Balls + Snorlax = craaazy!) to freeze the game lol. Ah, the good old days of messing around with the debug menu.

Who knows though, I'm no expert in hardware but I'd like to find out if the game could still run in 60 FPS with all those ICs lol.

They could be fixed. How could they be is unknown right now. They are developing Mewtwo anyways.
I'll be surprised if they manage to make them work on the 3DS.

Yeah, Sakurai said the Ice Climbers were running fine on the WiiU version, so I'd assume the team tested every mode before determining that they ran fine.

The only issue is the 3DS, which I guess can be fixed (haven't seen that myself), but I'm sure the team would rather finish the Ice Climbers than just completely get rid of all the work they did for them on the WiiU, especially since DLC is a thing and Mewtwo, another veteran that didn't quite make it, is being worked on.
