Simple. Because he still makes money.
Yeah, but why is that? Is the Sonic Cycle thing true? Do people buy them out of morbid curiosity? I mean, I don't hate all the modern Sonic games. But from everything from Sonic 06 to Unleashed, you'd think that would be enough to kill the series.

I like Sonic 1-3+K, Adventure 1 and 2, and Generations. A few portable Sonic games that I can't remember as well.

I'm actually fortunate enough to have only played one terrible Sonic game... Sonic 4. My god those physics, or lack thereof.

Sega should have taken the idea of "Classic Sonic" in Generations and made better 2D games like the Genesis era.

I'd love a proper Sonic Adventure type game as well, as long as the Chao Garden comes back with it...

Not sure how to feel about Boom, I keep forgetting that's even a thing.

Of all the Sonic games I've played the sidescrollers have easily been the best. Sonic 1 is okay-ish, Sonic 2 is great, and Sonic 3 is amazing. Generations has amazing sidescroller sections but is just okay otherwise. Colors is pretty bad, too gimmicky and it feels untight, not sure where the praise comes from. Lost World was okay-ish, nothing more and nothing less. Didn't grow up with the Adventure games so what little I've tried has been absolutely horrendous, ugly animations, broken camera, glitchy as heck, terrible controls, bad voice acting, it seems like whenever I play one of the early 3D platformers that people always praise they're always terrible, the same goes for Super Mario 64 and Banjo Kazooie.

Sonic is really one of the most inconsistent video game franchises out there, and if it hadn't been for Generations I'd probably have said it should have stopped long ago.

Easy, because even with all the hate he's gotten, there's still a fanbase that like him. Namely kids and the people who still enjoy Sonic for what it is. And with them still around, I doubt Sonic will be going anywhere (which could also sadly mean the other IPs aren't going anywhere either).

Guys, I'm still here, though I've gotten a better name for the next round of speculation our moments of playing Smash Wii U/3DS.

But who said that I still won't be maining him in Smash with the many improvements that he had gotten.
Well I know you're here. I'm just trying to find R.O.B. And hopefully he found wherever that Wave Kusanagi guy went.

I might play through Metroid Prime again, it's a ****ing great game. The only part I don't like much is the relic hunting thing, but eh, nearly everything else makes up for it in spades.

I don't have Prime 2 unfortunately. If I did, I could at least screw around with the Multi-Player. I should try and find it soon. Same with one of the Mega Man collections. Preferably the MMX series one.

And then there's Soul Calibur 2. Easily one of my favorite games of all time. I keep trying to beat my records in Survival mode.

It's because it all wasn't that big of a deal at all. People just blew it out of proportion as they always do.

Shadow's game, 06 and Secret Rings were the only real offenders with 06 being the main one. Unleashed, despite what critics want you to believe, was actually very well received, liked and sold despite it's few yet shortcomings. Some will argue that the Werehog held it back, but that's just what the older fans thought. The younger fans? They adored the Werehog, apparently. Unleashed was simply a step in the right direction.

Then you have Colors and Generations which speak for themselves. I myself don't think Colors is all that great at all and that it has way too much slow and clunky 2D platforming for my tastes, but it was pretty much Sonic Unleashed done the way most people wished it had been done from the start. Then Generations fine tunes the boosting gameplay perfectly and even adds Classic Sonic to please the Retrophiles and thus succeeds as an amazing game solely on gameplay, music, graphics and nostalgia. Even with it being a bit rushed and incomplete, it was just a really fun game. Take the PC version into account with all of it's fantastic mods and it becomes pretty much perfect. (Especially with the mods that let you play with all of the characters other than just "boring old Sonic". Yay Blaze~ <3 ) Things were pretty much patched up from 06 and everything was awesome again.

The Lost World happened. ¦D

The "Sonic Cycle" stopped being a thing years ago and no one even talks about that anymore. People buy Sonic because people like Sonic. It's as simple as that. Non-Sonic fans don't get it because...well...they don't like Sonic. It's really as simple as that.

...Oh...What about Sonic 4, you ask? We don't talk about that. ¦(

Actually, I hear you can still find him on Twitch every now in then in a stream for Project M, Smash 4 or a stream by BrainScratchComms, HellfireComms and Somecallmejohnny. ¦D

Ow the Edge 2 confirmed?
Ow the Edge 2: Harder Edges. Wait, maybe Ow the Edge 2: The Edgening.

I suppose it's not that big of a deal. I know a majority of people really liked Generations and Colors, which is why I said it seemed to win people over(or something along those lines.). But so many people don't talk about the Sonic 4 games either. I mostly heard complaining about the Werehog though. From both a design and gameplay standpoint. With the day time stages getting a lot of praise. I don't think that many people like Black Knight all that much though.

Again, I'm not that big of a Sonic fan, and I'm even less of one as I got older. People who know me know I'm more of a Mario and Mega Man guy.

Just finished all my college classes for today, I just need to survive three more days followed by a morning class on Friday, then it's party time. I may end up writing a Katy Perry parody on Saturday involving the events

Black Knight is a lot more loved than you realize, but it's not really high up there either. It's still better than Secert Rings, though, whose only problem yet biggest problem was the gameplay and controls.

And I started my gaming career as a kid with Mario, Sonic AND Mega Man and had never heard of the phrase "Console War" or of Sonic and Mario's supposed rivalry until Brawl because I always played all of their games and for console, I've always had every single one of every single Generation save for the current one going on right now.

I was born into a family of gamers and computer people who all got into anime before America even knew anime was a thing. XD

Sonic 4 is a fun distraction just like New Super Mario Bros. is a fun distraction. Difference being I can complete Sonic 4 in one sitting, whereas I get bored of an NSMB game by the second half of World 2.

Also I want to play a drinking game where I take a shot every time I see someone mention wanting another Adventure game because of the Chao Garden, but I'm afraid that I'd be sent to the hospital for alcohol poisoning within 20 minutes. Go get a Nintendogs game if you want Chao back, it's the same thing.

I like Pac-Man more than Mario or Sonic. Though I've played more games from the latter two.

:4pacman:Probably one of the greatest additions to any Smash game ever, for me at least.

Pac-Man was the first game I ever played though, so that might have something to do with it.
But Super Mario Bros. was my second game.

I still have my goal of playing at least one game for each playable character in Smash...

'sup people. Back from my first day of my final year at Uni.

How's it going?
Just walked outside the damn house with a hornet on my neck, hoping for it to fly away and get out of the house. And THIS is why I always tell my mom to never leave windows open during pollinating season.

As Pac-Man World 2 on the Gamecube was the second game I ever played in my life, you can imagine my nostalgic overload when they decided to use that Pac-Man instead of the Ghostly Adventures eyesore (Pac-Man should NEVER have teeth. EVEEEEER.).
