Theory 2:
Hyrule Warriors is a reverse of Dynasty Warriors, where the first game was a fighting game and the rest ware Musou. Hyrule Warriors 2 becomes big in the competitive scene leading to an entire Zelda-based fighting game franchise that outshines Smash. In the desperate attempt to bring back sales, Sakurai puts more Zelda characters in new Smash.
Ghirahim confirmed for Smash 5.

I REALLY want a Zelda fighting game to happen someday. Hyrule is the next best thing though, so at least we have that for now.

I was just joking. I don't need a confirmation of Majora's Mask 3D, it is practically confirmed by Nintendo at this point already. Nintendo will announce it around the same time as the Majora's Mask DLC for Hyrule Warriors to maximize Majora's Mask hype. If they can port goddamn Xenoblade Chronicles to the 3DS on a whim, I'm sure they've considered Majora's Mask too.

Looking at the ad at the top of the page, I'm going to make a prediction that Isabelle from Animal Crossing is going to be playable in Smash 5. She is far too popular to not be included at this point and seeing how much Nintendo is pushing for the character to become the mascot of the Animal Crossing series, like with the Mario Kart DLC, I don't see them leaving her out.

Haha, I remember during E3 they talked a bit about the MK8 TV feature (I think they were thanking the fans?) and during it, it showed a slowed down clip of Luigi giving the death glare. I love it when they acknowledge this sort of thing

I can sort of see it happen. Although I feel it's much more likely they'll keep her as AT since that is far more true to her role (IE, assisting the player, which is what she does in ACNL). I feel she's perfect as Assist Trophy material, but I guess it depends on what she can bring to the table in the roster if they want her playable the next game.

Hyrule Warriors is so much fun.
I can rest easy knowing my two favorite Zelda characters, Midna and Ghirahim, are incredibly fun to use.
Midna in particular is so cute. <3

Her constantly snarky gibberish absolutely sells her new voice for me. Particularly, after she lands a guard break hit (the wind-up punch) she says some gibberish in this mocking tone at the opponent with her hand on her chin and laughs and it is hilarious and cute and I love it so much.
Please Nintendo, bless Midna to be one of your prized mascots instead of being locked in the basement with every Zelda character not Link.

I don't know. From her role in Smash and MH4 she just seems like a character who will only help without actually fighting. One of the tips in Smash 4 states she dislikes fighting and frowns when the fight gets near her. She seems like a pacifist character to me.

I guess it depends on how far they want to expand her role. She's the perfect fit as an assist trophy as far as her character goes.

Smash Bros 5 is 6 or so years away, so maybe they'll feel comfortable having her play more than that role by that time. Then again, she's already going to be playable in Mario Kart 8...

This is actually true. It's really hard to picture Isabelle fighting without losing that character lol
