No. You can't come up with a tier list 3 days after release. It'll be hugely inaccurate within weeks.
They did make one. But they got a fairly early release with the special demo(the offline and not download one). So they had a lot more time than 3 days. But it only works with the starting roster at best. It'll be kind of poor, imo, till everybody is taken into account.

What? I don't really care about Punch-Out. I don't like sports, let alone boxing.
So not trying to disrespect your opinion, so take this with a grain of salt, but if you think Punch-Out is about boxing and/or plays like a sports game, I think you may have missed the point.

It's a glorified pattern recognition puzzle game with ridiculous characters and a wry sense of humor. I really recommend the series if you've overlooked it in the past, but I'm also not telling you how to pick your games out. I can't play 3D shooters, period, so I get it.

Then I'll have to order a new tear drinking cup
Well, it's just peculiar given the idea of keeping handheld games represented on the 3DS version vs. console games on the Wii U version.

Wow. Some people and their obsession with the tier list... It's gonna be outdated super quickly regardless.

Really?

I must've missed that. That's odd (I guess it doesn't matter ultimately), but I guess I would've figured there'd be some more even representation. Though if it's a space saving situation by all means that makes sense - I would've done the same thing.

Weird if Isaac shows up as an assist trophy on the home console version.
I hope he doesn't cause then that'd give him a stronger case for DLC.

Football games aren't football, they're just pressing buttons on a controller. I'm just not interested. No offense.

I would also argue it's going to be a little less important this time around if the improved balance says anything about it.
Well, even hyper-balanced fighters have tier lists. That said, I've always been of the mind it takes 6 months to get any sort of reliable data - there's a lot of nuance still to be discovered.

You're entitled to that - what I'm getting at is that your argument is even less accurate to Punch-Out. It's a puzzle game with timing, you're holding onto aesthetic preferences. That said, the game isn't for everyone.

I sure hope so.

Maybe. But at least they had enough time to make a decent one... for the Starters.

I think they should've waited too, but it is what it is.
No way is this list going to be accurate say, 6 months from now. It's not a decent list if it becomes almost instantly outdated.

Interesting

They think the spinosaurus could have walked on 4 legs most of the time

"Spinosaurus may have used all four limbs to walk, unlike other carnivores, and it probably spent much of its time in the water"

To be fair, Tier lists do get updated fairly often. I'm not sure how often Brawl's was updated though. Often times it's never accurate and new things are found to make it different. The metagame is everevolving. And is probably not going to stop with the Mii Fighters and Custom Moves now available.

You also factoring in Mii weight classes? :4pacman:
Man the Mii fighters really do make things weird - especially given that they DO have default movesets. The weight and size customization really makes it impossible to make them legal right?

Well that's 9 characters

I'm sure they can figure out the tiers with them

When I was riding the bus home from School today, someones car passed by the bus while it was stopped (and that'll net then a fine) and I did the Duck Hunt Dog's laughing face at them (hand-at-mouth included) and they slammed the gas and booked it as soon as they saw me.
DUCK HUNT IS BEST POLICE OFFICER.

Much larger. 3 classes * 36 special moves * 3 weight classes
I figure the tiers would be based on the best moveset the character can have

They don't tier pokemon by different moves they have

If you have a mew with tackle and growl only, it doesn't suddenly make it under Uber

A tier list is essentially a reference point based on tournament results and what not. However, they aren't (or shouldn't) be designed to force players into playing as a particular character. The actual problem more so lies in whether or not the game in question is balanced enough where you don't get punished for picking anything but top tier. If you're playing the game and you absolutely have to play as the very best just to have a chance, the game clearly has holes and will cause stagnation.

Tier lists are and will always be... really ****ing dumb.
Ehhh, I like to use them as a beginning guidance. I'll just glance at them just to see who is absolutely bottom pit, and write in my head "don't touch them". Anyone else who is decent at least, I'll pick up.

One of Mega Pinsir/Heracross(I forget)'s staple competitive moves is Quick Attack. And they're OU.
It's ability increases it's strength by 30% and it gets STAB

That's like 78, almost as powerful as extreme speed

and I'm probably horribly messing up the math on this

I'm looking at @ Arcadenik Arcadenik 's avatar, and I'm unable to unsee two mouths on DHD,one being slightly above his teeth. I know they're gums, but it looks like a cartoony mouth.

Tiers are good imo because they tell you who not to touch. Kirby in Melee and Ganondorf in Brawl in particular.

But if you want to humiliate people, you win with Brawl Ganondorf or Melee Kirby. Honestly though, I could care less about where my character is ranked. I'll play who I want even if I go to a tournament and get bodied because of how non-viable they are.

So, I just noticed something about Lucina's alts. Take a look:

I think we all know these already, but those alts are based on characters from FE:A; from left to right, default, Nowi, Cherche. Cordelia, Tiki, Lissa, Tharja and Sumia.

With Tiki exception unless she marries male Robin, all of those are mothers tied to a future child, but none of those are able to marry Chrom. None, except for Sumia, who cutscenes and other material seem to imply there's a thing between she and Chrom. Not only that, the game itself pushes Sumia above all other possible Chrom wives when he has equal or none supports with all of them; and in Chapter 11 she's the only possible wive with a scene before Chrom's proposal.

So, what's the meaning of this? A confirmation of canon pairing? Deconfirmation? Or simply a homage with no other purpose?

Probably just a reference.
