Well, to be fair, just because they're trophies doesn't mean they can't be DLC.

What massacre? When did it become a bad thing to be a trophy? The playable characters get trophies, the stages get trophies, what is so terrible about them? Sure, it's sad to see characters gone, but to be fair that doesn't mean they're down and out for DLC. I just want to know when this whole superstition started.

I meant the stage itself, as well as the Medley accompanying it, I guess.

I mean, the 3rd area is Bowser's Castle. But why did he have to take it from SS for the second time? Doesn't he remember the more memorable Paper Mario Bowser Castle with the clown face, hanging chain balls, and menacing Bowser Gargoyle head? That's appeared in other incarnations, including a cameo on Mario Kart: SS's Rainbow Road?

It just seems foolish.

There's this theory going on that extra characters will be revealed later with the Wii U version's release.

Well, it actually goes with the leaks that revealed the entire roster. Hasn't one of the leakers stated the roster wasn't final? Perhaps, it may end up being true too...

Naturally, it's unwise to expect something like it. I've seen people holding too much hope for that and that is going to bite them later.

Anyway, characters are the main focus of the series, so it's not out of question they wanted to save a few reveals for after the 3DS release, secret characters aside.

For now, it's best to wait until further news. Mario Kart 8 had DLC released just a little while ago and was released back in May.

I wish. Would've been a good reason to play the game again. Except for all Time Trial stamps and two Gold Parts, I'm finished.

The problem with leakers is that you can't really say who is viable and who isn't. As far as the Ninka leak goes, I don't remember the people involved outright saying the roster wasn't final but that it could be a possibility.
The idea behind more characters being revealed as the WiiU version is obviously interesting (who could say no to more content, especially since it's free?), but so far, it has sadly no real basis.

However, I do believe DLC is going to happen one day. It doesn't please me in the slightest, but I don't see Nintendo not taking the occasion to sell additional characters, especially since a lot of people have the bad habit of going bonkers over the roster. Myself included.

You know, I actually really like the look of that 8th costume. Might end up using it.
On another note, been seeing more gameplay of Dark Pit and it looks like he's a slower more powerful version of Pit, with some weapon changes, a more straight arrow shot and a new final smash... but I've been warming up to him because his version of the side-B - the electroshock arm - looks SUPER satisfying to land. So much power.

I wouldn't be bothered by DLC at all. Mostly because lately it feels like Nintendo is getting the concept of DLC especially given the recent Mario Kart 8 DLC reveals that they are actually using the concept of DLC the way it should have been used in the first place. Compared to a lot of other situations with particular companies where you feel the the DLC is simply being used to rip parts of the game out so they can resell it back to you.

While I hope this will be the case, Im just going to take the roster as it is right now, just to avoid being dissapointed. Plus, who knows who Sakurai would actually pick for the said DLC....

I'm not crossing my fingers for a Snake trophy. It would be nice, but I dunno, I feel like if they were to pay for licencing and crud, he's be playable.

I mained ICs for years back when all my friends and I were button mashers, and then left them when I picked up smash again some years later. Somehow it hurts more for all that, because I associate the Climbers with my casual melee nostalgia.
Has anyone translated the trophy text yet?
