Yes, Nintendo have literally teamed up with Hasbro for a Transformers-themed Splatfest on Splatoon.

....well ****, suddenly that makes my crackpot want less of a crackpot want. I feel oddly vindicated, in a way; this proves Nintendo and Hasbro are on talking terms, and as such could potentially lead to my dream idea. Maybe not for Smash 4, but the future's a bit brighter than it used to be. At the very least, there's the idea.

This could also lead to Mii costumes in Smash 4, actually. That'd be interesting to see.

Actually, something I wanted to ask, could there be mii costumes based on popular media? How would you guys react to that? Stuff like anime, action figures, etc.

Since Hasbro is already teaming up with Nintendo for Splatoon, I doubt it's any stretch to think Hasbro-related Smash costumes is a strong possibility.
