That is a tough situation indeed. This is not really the wrong place. I just suggested the other thread because a lot of people tend to vent there. I used to frequent there to give advice and there were decent people there then, but from what @ Professor Pumpkaboo seems to claim, it is not quite the same anymore.

Like @TakeYourHeart said, there is not much that you can do that would not make her/his situation better. Any action on your part, could make things worse. Has it always been like this?

Though I can offer some advice, your options are quite limited.

You or your SO, could record some of this covertly and show the relevant parties, but being realistic, it has the potential to damage your SO's family dynamic and make it unstable/worse no matter how toxic it is now. You and your SO will have to judge whether it's worth it.

Otherwise, wait till things improve. I'm sorry. Though do note that I am in no way trained to diffuse such situations.

But didn't you have some kind of problems with installation last month or am I confusing you with someone else? Perhaps Microsoft ironed things out since then. I believe there was something about waiting for an icon to appear in your task tray while now you just click a link?

I just hope they add more than just Swordsmen. If like Marth and Ike are the only solely sword users I'd be fine with that.

I wasn't really aware of how bad it was until around a year ago and it's kind of become more and more apparent to me how it was until we started really discussing it, but yeah.

Its just nice to kind of talk about it...
But it really doesn't seem like there's anything I can do, because even telling my parents probably wouldn't help too much because if my SO telling me anything bad they did leaked out (and my mom knowing the stuff would create a social tension with the situation and may make it less likely we saw each other the about once a week we do) Plus our mothers strange feeling

"they have to plan everything we do a few days ahead." and this is like each other's familys' visiting/doing some activity.

No prob. Yes, I have. It was just a bunch of Windows Update server issues.

The one thing you can do is be there for him/her emotionally. Having someone to talk to it about probably helps a lot.
