Then, of course, it gets worse when the side that likes it posts a comment. It becomes a war

"No skill? Tell that to the people that have 50,000 pvp kills" responded by "Wow, he sure clicked a bunch of times"

How was I supposed to know that attacking the captain would make my win void? If I talk with him after attacking, he shrugs me off and refuses to take me onto his ship, meaning Game Over. If I actually bring his HP to 0, he "dies" and can't take me onto the ship, meaning Game Over.

Unless I missed a hint somewhere, this 100% Game Over scenario feels like a sucker punch to the player. :l

yeah. There's Fargus and then some Paladin boss. Killing Fargus results in a game over.

Yeh. I killed the other boss, the purple-haired horseman. When I killed the pirate captain, he died, and I got the Game Over screen.

It's been a while since I played FE7 but I'm fairly certain the game makes it clear that you're not supposed to attack him

I'm not gonna deny there's some cryptic stuff in Fire Emblem (just look at the requirements for 23xx), but I don't think this was that hard to figure out.

Thanks for the welcome. Like other users have said, the chapter has you talk to Fargus since he lends Eliwood a boat in the story.

At the start, FE7 is easy eough for players to get use to the variety of victory conditions and mechanics. This does, however, prompt the player to pay heavier attention to dialogue which hints on enemy reinforcements, a recruitable character, etc.

Damn, I think I skipped the dialogue before I saw him talk. I forgot that he gets recruited two chapter later as well. My double bad. :x
