Good morning. Yesterday, I played some Melee Marth dittos with one of my friends, he's a fun character. Ganon is still the best however.

Eh, I'm not really that great at Melee, and I usually play it for fun. Tips would be nice, since my friend mains Marth, but I'm more focused on improving in Smash 4.

Marth is all about spacing so try to attack from the tipper of his sword. You will deal more damage too.

Yeah, that's Marth in a nutshell. My friend also loves playing defensively for whatever reason, so he stands still and spams f-smashes just to catch the tipper. I usually mess around with Ganon by wavelanding everywhere, and he doesn't appreciate it a lot 'cause he can't do it.

That is not a very good playstyle. I am sure there are other ways to play Marth defensively. Marth is also all about movement too.

Yeah, but he plays much better when I ditto him, even though I've used the character a few times. He plays a lot like Falcon, with an emphasis on dash dancing and SHFFL aerials.

Spacing is important. Try to bate in your opponent with dashdancing and SHFFL Fair. Also poke your opponent with D-tilt to try to space out your opponent. (If that is possible)

So I think most of us can agree that Wolf is making a comeback, but I have a feeling that Nintendo is going to throw a curveball for one of the characters.

Who would you want for this "surprise character"? My vote goes for Simon Belmont.

I really want Simon Belmont so bad but I have this feeling that he is not getting in.

His grabs were nerfed but they still made him able to combo well.

I heard. I haven't really tried anything yet cause I've been playing a little Mario Maker or just being lazy. School and all.

If he jumps just hold down. marth's aerials are complete garbage in the neutral because you can just CC them and punish them with whatever. (usually f-smash or grab as marth or d-tilt, f-tilt, jab, or grab as ganon depending on how well he spaced the aerial and if you wanna put him off stage) The only exception to this is like a perfectly spaced n-air and you can probably still catch him with a f-tilt as ganon or a d-tilt as marth.

if you get him in the air and he has no jump you can u-air him for free and if he's not that good (which by how you described him so far he isn't) you can bait out a f-air or a d-air by spacing an empty jump properly (or a wave-land if you know how)and then you can punish with anything you want.

if you do have wan't to improve your melee ganon then learn how to wave-land and wave-dash consistently and fluidly learn which characters you can chain-grab and for how long at which percents learn your punish game off of d-throw and learn how to do stylish wiz kick suicide edge guards.

You should research Meta Knight on Smashboards. You may find new combos or new things to try. I will do the same.
