Because a Middle-Eastern character reveal = offensive.

Granted, the timing might've been unexpected, but nothing came off as offensive. It's not like there was any exploding bombs in the trailer.

1: Because of the lag, you move don't come out as the second as you press it. So your character react too late before to attack.
2: Maybe because your move are too slow or have little priority. A fast attack beat always a slow attack and move with little priorty can be "eat" by the opponent attack.
Or maybe Z.
Z: I just read you easily and so i known when to attack.

Read depend of you playstyle and of your character. Let's take a exemple, you known the Link Spammer in For Glory? Always shooting arrow and other projectile at the ledge and Smash you if your too close. Well this style is very readable. Sure, you gonna to spam you opponent who is far of you. But if you known what to do. (And if the lag is not horrible.) You can easily known what you opponent will do and so "read it". So for being less readable, you have to be more careful on your playstyle. Because here, it's all depend to you and the character that you choose. Like i said before, check some replay of our match. And see what you have done wrong. And then try the next time to not do the same thing. This is all i can said.

I've seen it, the way Sonic is drawn here is pretty faithful, it's awesome! Now I kinda want to see him draw Tails, Knux and Amy...and the Chaotix maybe because why not?

Well do what you want. Again, if you want to improve a character like Marth. Who is really difficult to learn and master because of his con. Well you gonna to take alot of time before read opponent with a character that have a concept of "High Reward, High Risk" with alot of move that are not that great if you don't known how to use them. But character like Sheik, are easier because how fast they can attack and move. So yeah, keep training with Sheik but only if you want to get better quickly. Because a High Tier is generally more easier than a Low Tier. That's how his life sadly.

Like i said one time, i never train before a match. I always do a match whatever if my skill is bad or not. So i can't help you that, sorry. (Training mode is however different on certain thing, like there is no rage and the CPU reaction are not really the best thing for learning.) But expected that, i am happy to help you! If i can help people, well it's all that count!
