Ibelieve it does or else why would we have such a thing as forbidden DI or whatever it is when you shave your contorl stick. So yeah....also, isn't there a stickied question thread for stuff like this. You'd get an answer much faster by subscribed people who have answered questions there.

If you mean to ask if it's possible to have intermediate DI and not just "all or nothing", then yes. DI "strength" depends on how much you tilt the control stick.
Actually, it depends on how much you tilt it perpendicular to the original direction, so in the case of Fox's upsmash, which sends you slightly forward, for maximum DI you should tilt the stick foward and slightly downwards in a 90-degree angle from the original direction.

To add to what AJP said, you also have to take into account on the stage. Not all blast zones are created equal. You don't want to go at a 45 degree angle on FoD since it has a high ceiling and small sides. Conversely, PS is really wide with a lower ceiling. You have to know the limits of the stage and DI towards the corner (which maybe be > or < 45 degrees).

I di slightly to the right lets say being hit by fox up smash

I di fully to the right (all the way on my grey stick) being hit by fox up smash

Does it make a difference in the trajectory of the knock back?
It definitely makes a difference.

Bumping this old thread because there doesn't seem to be any reference anywhere on how it makes a difference. Every DI guide out there only takes the angle into account.

Is completely analog? Or is it like all or nothing at certain lengths the stick is tilted? So for example 0 (no di) to a certain length tilt would affect kb one way. Then another range of tilts would have the same effect on kb and so on.
