Well, I'm sure me and Naka will be there, but there's been the Idea of wes+pockyD trying to make it with the long drive from Philly/NJ.

In the opening post I put crews there.
I'm assuming Yoshibomb's friends and he will play as a crew.

if i have a $10 entrance fee, prizes only go to third place in a 60, 30, 10 split.
if I have a $15 entrance fee, it'll be spaced out down to five. 40, 30, 20, 5, 5 or something along those lines. I'll make it even and as fair as possible. Last time I took some money out of 1 through 3 and gave 4th and 5th their entrance fees.

Last time there were lots of people there, but only a few actually entered the tourney. Probably because cape and mow entered... But cape's not coming and it's shaping up to be a much bigger tournament. We're trying to make it worth peoples' while to come down and smash. But I see where you're coming from.

umm i think taki is forgetting something big thats happening on the 31st, taki get on aim if you see this cuz it poses a pretty big problem.

for every two people that enter,

2nd - .5x3
3rd - .5x
so for third place to get there entrance fee back, 30 people would have to enter. Even then, first place is $90. Which is a huge gap.
if I do $10...It's the same thing only prizes are doubled.

As you can see, $15 sets up for an even spread. If a very large number of people show up, I'll spread down past 5th. But I doubt we'll get that many.
Yes, many people showed up last time, but many bailed because I held the tournament second day and teams first day. After getting their butts kicked all night, they were disinclined to play in the tournament.
So, any more people coming, let me know and I'll put you in opening post. If you said you are and I missed you tell me again.

Another way around that problem Twin_Dreams is if you had a system like the FC's, where you pay for everything up front. That way you won't have to feel a schedule constraint because of those bailing *******s.

Kinda hard to know the percentages on me and Pocky making it to this one. If we do, we'll talk to K_Walk and try to get him to come with us too, since he's in the sam general area, but it's a beating of a drive and makes getting back in time for New Years plans a bit difficult. I'd definately like to make it, but the logistics might be tough. I'll keep yall updated as I know what's going on.

If you don't stay the night, you'll definitely have enough time. If you spend the night and don't enter doubles, you'll still have enough time. Since it is definitely starting before or at noon. If you want to stay for doubles, it'll depend on how many entrants we have and where you live.

just a humble suggestion for future ones since its apparent that ppl are having date issue I would make the date right after the JGP(assuming they consistent hold them at around the same time every year) in Scranton and/or after new years.

Update: the tournament officially ends at 4 PM on New Year's Eve. The venue is having a New Year's party and we have to be out by then. But, if anybody wants to stay for the party, we could probably rig up a Smash TV in the basement (since people will be watching movies, etc in the main hall).

How far is this from Pittsburgh PA (namely Carnegie)? I tried to put it into Mapquest but for some reason the address you have in the first post doesn't come up.
If its within a half hour or so me and my 3 friends (MCC) should be able to make it (I think Rob already told you that though as I can see from the first post, but just to reaffirm that seeing as that I'll probably be there ride).
