Salazzle Support Thread

Generation 7, being set in the Pokemon equivalent of Hawaii, has a wide array of unusual and unique Pokemon, just about any of which could be a contender for Smash Bros. One such Pokemon is the Toxic Lizard Pokemon, Salazzle.

What is Salazzle?

The Evolved form of Salandit, Salazzle is a Poison/Fire type Pokemon that is focused on speed, special attack and poisoning. Salandit use their phermones to control the male Salandit to do their bidding and said phermones after being watered down can be used in perfumes.
Salazzle is a difficult Pokemon to obtain. This isn't because it's base form is rare, per se, but because only female ones can evolve and there's a one in 8 chance of Salandit being female. If you are patient enough to track one down (or to gather enough totem stickers in Ultra Moon) it's worth it for the power she brings to battle.

Why Salazzle?

Salazzle has a unique type combination of Fire and Poison, later of which has been seen in a Pokemon (Ivysaur) but not used to it's full potential. It's use of toxin, mixed with the more conventional fire type can make for an interesting fighter based on debuffing and striking when the time is right.

Moveset Potential

Two moves in particular come to mind: Toxic and Venoshock. Toxic inflicts a more powerful version of poison on the opponent that deals increasing damage over time. Venoshock is a reletivley weak attack taht becomes super powerful is performed on a poisoned foe. Combining the two could make for a set-up and knock down moveset where you can't let your guard down, lest you be SMASHED. Rounding out the moveset is a variety of special moves like Flamethrower and Dragon Pulse to give extra options

It has a pretty funny schtick with the poison Corrosion and Venoshock dealing more damage on poisoned opponents, but Inkling already does a pretty similar thing.

Anyway, can't wait for the Passmian thread.

I think that Salandit has better odds of appearing in Smash Ultimate than Salazzle, and even then, it would be fortunate to get the Poke Ball Pokemon treatment.

Salazzle is one of my favorite gen 7 Pokemon. I doubt she has much a chance but I'd definitely support her inclusion.

Additional plus: the 100% gender rate would mean another female character for Smash.

I don't see what /vp/ sees in Salazzle. Salazzle is so far from being human that I don't see how it can be attractive to them.

Well the Vergeben rumor mill is back at work and this time claiming, in full tease mode, that the Gen 7 Pokemon won't be Mimikyu, Decidueye or Lycanroc.

I have my doubts about this guy but who could be the pick?

fire is my favorite pokemon type but Salazzle's poison would be a new wrinkle in Smash

in addition to the toxic+venoshock combo maybe his fire move could be purple and does residual decimal damage when it hits an opponent

Well Salazzle survived the last Direct's Pokemon show-off section.

Though I'd prefer her getting in as a Pokeball than not getting in at all.

Honestly, the unholy child of Bayonetta and Ridley could be fun! I at least want to see this pokémon as a Pokeball. Not my first pick for Gen7, but one that I like.

Greninja could use a new fire-type complement since Charizard went back to its trainer. Also more female representation since Salazzle is a female-only Pokemon.

I’m thinking Poke Ball is more likely but the more I speculate about it the more I’d love to see her in. Add me to the list please

Well the direct is in less than 12 hours.

Last time we were all betting on Mewtwo and Hawlucha while ending up with Greninja. Maybe we'll be caught out of left field again.

Now Sakurai has said that there's more DLC coming. It's all fair game now.

Well, looks like the thread died again. This was actually something I had considered designing and coding, because I like the lizards of pokemon, but I decided on doing Inteleon first. I still support this though, if anyone ever comes back here. (Now that I see there's a thread supporting this, this may be a future project for me, if that's fine)

I've already contacted Nintendo for me designing, animating, and coding Inteleon as DLC 6 or 7 in fighters pass 2, so after this, I really doubt that they'll let me put a second character into the game, especially two from the same game series. I may just do this as a side project afterwards, I can post updates for this through messages if you want, just start the conversation.
