Captain Toad makes so much sense to me as a character. Look at this:
F Smash: Super pickaxe slice forward.
Up Smash: Pulls a gem out of the ground to above his head, similar to Lucas' up smash hit boxes.
Down Smash: Swing his heavy backpack on the ground.
F Tilt: Parry forward with Super Pickaxe
Down Tilt: Tries pulling something out of the ground (like villager's, but like in the Captain's game can be done consecutively pretty fast).
Up tilt: Small amount of spores come out of his head (cause he's a shroom, obviously).
Jab: Simple punch, kick, then swings around and hits target with his backpack.
Nair: Spins around in the air (backpack is the hitbox).
Fair: Swings super pickaxe in the same way ice climbers did for their Fair, meteor smashes at specific spot in the move.
Bair: Similar to Ike's, but Captain Toad takes his backpack off and swings it with those similar hitboxes.
Up Air: Holds super pickaxe upward (again, like Ice Climbers, same hitboxes as well).
Neutral B: Pulls a turnip out of the ground, holds it above his head until ready to let go. Hold B to keep holding the turnip, can walk around while holding this. Every turnip does the same damage (no stitch faces). Longer held, further distance thrown. Will start falling when it loses momentum from throwing it (which obviously changes depending on how long you hold this attack).
Side B: Minecart ride (like Bowser Junior's side B). Can press B to throw turnips during the ride, and spin out at the end, but can't jump during the move like Bowser Junior's.
Up B: Grabs ahold of a Para-BiddyBud (or Bug? Can't seem to remember), and it carries him upward. The BiddyBud itself has a hitbox.
Down B: Puts a double cherry copy of himself out in front as a shield. Doesn't last long, but runnin into it will give you some hitstun and knock you back a bit. You can destroy this double cherry copy like Zelda's phantom. Not as strong as it though.
Grabs are very difficult to decide. I really don't have much care in the matters of that. Same with Final Smash.
Taunts:
One of his taunts could potentially be him spinning around like in his game, and it has a hitbox because in the game doing that can kill enemies.
Another can turn his headlight on and off.
Last one can make him look back and forth like at the beginning of a level.
