Oh man, this would be the first storbook series game that would get away with bringing back an old but gold character.

Perfect examples:
  • Fang the Sniper
  • Shadow the Hedgehog

EDIT: In all seriousness, treasure hunters like Knuckles, Rouge, & Fang would do great in this story plot. Shadow, Tails, & Espio (disregard that he's a ninja) could make great rivals / companions to be playable.
