To begin with, I have to say I don't really main fox, but I still use him often.

Anywho, as we all know, waveshinging is useful, and wonderful and all that. So are JCS's. Also, if someone does a precise, quick JCS (generally by sliding from B to the top jump button) has only the three little "sparks", but still functions as a shine. So I'm trying to make my waveshines as quick as possible--meaning fitting the entire WD finger sequence into the quick slide from B to X/Y, while still having a decent WD (not the stubby ones most people are content with).

Is it worth the effort? I notice in videos most people don't do anything as quick as that...

For the record, I can do it consistently, but not in rapid succession--as a WS combo would need... also, it makes RSHDLing pretty easy after trying this... ;)

yes and no.

It is worth learning to waveshine at perfect speed. But after a while, you'll be able to do it without sliding/ clawing. For instance: if i try to slide for a waveshine, it's too fast.

Well, you don't really need to because once you practice that goal in mind long enough, you'll be able to do it at high speed with a perfect wavedash. I'm still working on speed, but my wavedashes pretty long. Practice Thunder's Combo or waveshining Marth. I find those to be worthwhile when it comes to improving waveshines.

you have to dash and jc shine to waveshine a marth, so it doesn't really help your normal waveshine game, while simultaneously adding more complexity to something is just starting to learn.

what do you mean that it is too fast, scotu? More specifics in that would be useful...:)

Also, I'm not new to WSing, as I said I use fox often (I can infinate link, zelda...etc) and the whole jcing to help continue against marths is actually really useful--thanks! Thats the added complexity I need, as I can do pretty much everything with fox I know of.

I just want to see how quickly I can do it, as the wasted time getting out f the shine is what reduces people's options--I linger way too long (but have good wds, whereas many people I see have crappy WD's out of it but they aren't in it for as long (I know the difference is wicked minor, but I notice it)

By too fast, i mean that i'll hit jump before the shine is cancelable by jump. Just practice over and over again, and you'll get perfect speed perfect wavedashes, no need for sliding for that.

I would practice gaining the perfect waveshine, because its useful for waveshining people like Samus. Also, you should practice varying your waveshine if you really want to use it, because some people have screwy DI and can get out of it. There are better options, but it's fun ^_^

I'm confused now. How DO you waveshine Marths <--they have got to be the most annoying. Do you dash-->hit jump, then immediately shine-->wavedash-->dash-->etc. etc.?

yep - that's exactly it. You know how to jc shine? if you don't, you probably have other technical things to learn first. but, i'm guessing you do, since you described it perfectly.

Well, not really...by not really I mean using it as a standalone move, not to mention dashing while doing it. I can do multishines which is probably what you're talking about, but I've always started my multishines by shining first - not the other way around. I'm gonna need to work on it a little to change my ways. =)
