Would Ryu be considered a ground based fighter? I mean I get he has powerful aerials and everything, but is he a better fighter on the ground? (Just curious)

yeah. He does have a air game, but on the ground is where he is most fit.

Nah, I registered here when I was about 11, it used to always be Doomfire. Here on SWF it was even "Volcanic Doomfire", after some Yu-gi-oh card, but people kept joking about "VD" so that was a no-go. Someone else always used to joke "shut up Dumbfire!" when I was being an idiot and I went with it. Now anytime people ask me offline I make up some extravagant tale about losing a bet of some kind and having to change my name due to it, although those are always entirely fabricated.@Dumbfire , are you a GW2 player by any chance?`That name...

Ok. Just thought cause that is what the trait "Dhuumfire" was called for being too broken at its initial release ... after which, sadly, they nerfed the trait and various other Necromancer skills/traits until they were worse off then before.

Among the three fighters just realeased, in terms of playstyle mine favourite has got to be Ryu. He's one of the few characters whom just feels natural to me. I'm seriously thinking about maining him.
I'm glad they based Ryu on his SF2 look and not his Frankenstein-esque look from the new games. Also love the sound effects; brings back memories.

I'm not sure where the animosity towards the Links is coming from but whatevs.
In other news I'm pretty bad so far in an actual fight. I can do all the BnB in practice all day but I devolve in a match. Feels like UMvC3 all over again
