this is probably a dumb question, but I just dont understand how the shine>bair works for fox.. i mean isnt the shine trajectory down and away? so how does doing a jump and a bair even hit like that? its crazy (and awesome)

and i THINK ive seen lovage do it without even jumping.. like shine, and then the bair dropped and kicked my ***... but i that might be me hallucinating

Well I've done it about 6 times on my friends. The way it works from my knowledge is that the top tip of the Down B must hit the opponent and you have to then quickly Bair.

When you mean down and away, it's a matter of quickness in doing the done B Bair so you don't actually DI towards the opponents DI. So you just have to be fast so you can connect it. Don't worry about their DI downwards and away.

combos off the shine like this usually rely on your opponent DIing up. it just so happens that people DI up a lot of the time because they're trying to survival DI your back air. you can even do shine uair if you're fast enough and they DI up <.<

People who say they need to DI up are wrong.. what matters is that you hit the shine on the top part so you have a higher chance of landing the b-air.

Their DI will only matter if you do shine>turn around b-air where in most cases it's slower and needs bad DI for it to work successfully.

yup it has nothing to do with DI

you have to hit with the top tip of the shine
While DI may or may not stop you from getting the shine -> aerial in. It does become much easier if they are DI'ing into you or up to hit them with it. You don't even need to be too accurate with the shine if they try to survival DI which is the point Lovage is trying to make (which I would take considering, you know, he does it 300x in every match he plays).

With that I'll close it, searching in the Fox boards alone has better topics about shine -> bair than this one. Plus everything seems to have been covered.
