So I was thinking what if we got a pokemon tournament started?
I want to get your thoughts on this before this even happens...
what rules would we use which gen? which tiers? I'd like to hear what you guys have before getting this started.
Your administration isn't "absent." Just because I don't post here on a daily basis doesn't mean I'm not checking multiple times a day. (Granted, I am visiting friends back home this week and am checking a little less than usual, but I'm still here.)
If you're interested in starting up a tournament, Alberto, and you'd like to arrange postbit awards for it, feel free to get in contact with me about it. Things certainly aren't going to get any more lively and active around here if every time somebody tries to do something everybody comes in with a cynical attitude and tells them to not even try.
Oh, it's hardly a surprise, and I'm not sure how I'm acting like it is at all. It hasn't been a surprise to me for God-knows-how-long now. You may think I'm oblivious to everything going on here, but I'm not.
I just thought that after a while you guys would get sick of hanging around just to be negative and realize that, in your attitude, you're dooming the Poké Center to stay in the same place that you continue to mourn. I try not to call you out on it every time you do it because I keep hoping you'll realize how unproductive it is, but when you keep essentially telling people to leave and not even bother trying to keep this place alive, I get sick of it.
If you don't think there's anything left here, go somewhere else. If you think it's worth it enough to stick around, stop telling everyone who comes here that it's never going anywhere.
UltiMario, get over yourself. Seriously. The prime of the PokeCenter has already gone. You of all people should understand that, and surely you know you have the choice of staying around to attempt to make it a better place, or you get the **** out and don't bother posting in here again. Unfortunately, since I came upon this conversation I need to explain to you how simple of a process this is and thus make yet another post in the PokeCenter commenting on your stupidity.
If you're going to hang around for the sake of getting postbits, that's perfectly fine. Don't be a ***** about it and say "Herp derp look a new thread, I should go discourage people from making new threads (even though I want postbits)", because we've seen how effective that is, right?
Your attitude is clearly unwanted by the PokeCenter Staff. So you change your attitude, or you change where you post. It's your decision.
Maybe if our mods would actually try and host a postbit tourney themselves instead of just waiting and doing nothing, hoping something will happen, something would get done around here and we would have a forum that has more of a use than dumping my snarky comments and jokes.

So what if they aren't contributing anything. They're not the ones griping about the lack of activity (at least in public anyway), you are. So if you're going to complain, you can leave or just try and contribute something to keep the forum from being inactive.
And let's be honest, you've been "dumping snark comments" since 2010 and projects stopped happening on a regular basis.
Then quit giving the Staff headaches and stop griping about the lack of events. If you want to participate, then wait for someone to host something instead of discouraging whoever by throwing around empty insults.

Okay, so let me get this straight: your first response to a thread like this was to say that it'll never happen and the PC is dead, so tournaments never actually work out, but the mods are the bad guys because we haven't arranged a tournament yet?
Also, it would help if you would actually suggest ideas like this and message me like I've suggested you guys do anytime you have any ideas. I try to make a point of saying that you can contact me if you have any ideas or suggestions for things, and only a few people ever do. I've gotten the impression that there isn't much of a drive to participate in tournaments and that they don't usually finish, at least not without a decent amount of trouble. If you had thought that tournaments could be beneficial to the PC and could help improve the situation, you could've told me instead of making passive-aggressive comments in spoiler text. I feel like anytime I try to do anything to help improve things here, there's a group of people scoffing at the fact that I'm actually trying to keep the PC alive, so I'm not terribly inclined to start projects unless somebody suggests it to me.
If there's enough interest in a tournament around here, I'll be happy to host one. Once I'm back settled again and not visiting in CT, I'll start up the Grand Festival again and I'll put up a poll about tournament interest.
